Free agent guard E’Twaun Moore is the subject of strong consideration from the Cavs, reports David Pick of Eurobasket.com (Twitter link). Moore reportedly held off on signing a deal with Olimpia Milano of Italy amid interest from two NBA teams. It appears Cleveland is one of those clubs, though the identify of the other remains unclear.

Moore spent the last two seasons with the Magic, carving out a role in the team’s rotation. Orlando nonetheless declined to tender a qualifying offer worth roughly $1.148MM, making him an unrestricted free agent. The 25-year-old Mark Bartelstein client put up 7.1 points in 20.7 minutes per game during his time with Orlando.

Cleveland has an agreement in place to acquire Kevin Love, but that won’t change the team’s inability to offer more than the minimum salary. The Cavs have pursued swingman Ray Allen, but he’s spoken of a desire for more than the minimum. Moore, whose 35.4% three-point percentage is right in line with his career average of 35.0%, is nowhere near the long-range marksman that Allen has been over his career, but it’s possible that Cleveland sees Moore as a fallback option. That’s just my speculation, however.

As his minutes decreased with the magic his FG% and efficiency rose and his three point percentage is consistent throughout his career. The Cavs know they're getting a reserve guard that will come in and hit threes. That's what Ray Allen would do here if he were coming here.

He played most of his minutes next to 'Dipo...it's a tossup who you call PG in those lineups...I would say "neither" :chuckles:

I guess I would be okay with this if it's just for extra depth. I think it would be a mistake to have him playing minutes over Delly, though.

No doubt it would. Delly has an established role on this team, a combo guard that can hit threes isn't going to disrupt that.

Nice!
He'll wait once the Love-trade is official.

It's definitely going to be the Cavs. Ray is also 26 three pointers away from reaching the 3,000 three pointers made mark. It would be amazing if he did that in a Cavs jersey

Allen,Marion, and Moz make this quite the off-season(you get my point...lol(.. not sure where Moore fits.. I assume the IR will be used to rest vets this yr as we will have a pretty stout 15 man rotation .. also these vets IMO will be great for the maturity and development of Kyrie and Dion

Hopefully land Marion and Allen then just play out the first part of the season and see how things go, don't really want to trade away picks for a center when there might be a cheaper option at the deadline. Already gave up a pick in the Jack deal and another in the Love deal can't just be handing picks out left and right or we'll end up with an old basketball team.

E'Tuan Moore gets better every year, I will give him that. If they are looking for a smart role player at backup guard who won't mistake himself for the focal point of the offense, I like Moore for the minimum.
