Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He surely isn't worth that Haywood contract chip but for a future 1st rounder id do it. Thats a better deal than the Mozzie plus scrub for Dion & TT deal.

Id do TT & the Memphis pick but im dreaming lol.

In order to make the salaries work, you pretty much have to include the Haywood "contract chip," unless you send out something like Waiters/Thompson. So you want to trade for McGee, plus bring in another large salary using Haywood?? Anyway, if the Cavs are able to use the the Haywood chip, they are very likely going to be getting back a bad contract/player with baggage, like McGee or Larry Sanders.

I still stand by the idea that Larry Sanders would compliment this team perfectly with his skillset. Yeah, guy has had locker room/weed related issues. These were a bigger problem when we were a really young team led by Kyrie, Dion and a teenaged Wiggins.

With veterans like LeBron, Miller, Jones, Varejao and others to help guide the young guys, Sanders could be kept in check... and he'd be an absolute beast on this team. If we could get him, I actually think he's worth the risk. If it works out, we've essentially constructed the perfect roster... with a combination of veterans for the 'now' and ridiculous talent for the future.

Sanders or bust.

Sanders would be awesome, but not worth what we'd have to give up, which would be more than we're willing to do for that trade. So it's not happening.

His 11 million dollar contract would mean Andy would have to be involved. Or Tristan, Waiters, or some other combination of players to make it work.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong. But I keep hearing people wanting to include Haywood. Right now, his contract can only be dealt for 2 million and change, at least according to ESPN. I don't think that 10 million non-guaranteed comes available until next year.

After re-reading the linked article, it almost sounds like Ray might want to go to a team that will jump start his coaching career.

I think the Cavs have waited long enough for Allen to decide. Sounds like half the league is interested in Allen. Would hate to see Ellington sign for minimum with another team and Allen in another 2 weeks decides to go to another team or retire. Sign Ellington if we can now.

Mozgov is much better for this team.. nothing is happening with JM IMO

After such a busy off season everything just seems slow now....ha. Hurry up pre season!

Yes, I was responding to Kevin Pelton's chat about the possibility the Cavs could pursue McGee next off-season using Haywood. People are too often not clear enough about the timing, which leads to confusion. To trade for a $10M plus contract like McGee or Sanders before next summer would obviously have to involve Varejao, Thompson, or Waiters. Thompson and Haywood, for instance.

You know what with Bron here I would almost be willing to take Sanders on. If there is one player in all of sports who can get through a thick skull It would be LeBron. However this also go the other way and blow up if he is one of those who refuse to change. Sanders is the kinda player we need badly though tough call.

I doubt we go for guys like Sanders and McGee unless we get real desperate next season.
They superficially look like good addon's because they fill our need for a "rim protector" but when you take a look at their numbers adjusted +/- and RAPM you see both are just not smart basketball players. They hurt the offense and the amount they help on defense is a lot less then what you expect from guys who should be able to completely alter a ton of shots (i.e. Sanders)

I suspect we'll key in a guy like Okafur if he can play who is a lot cheaper, shorter contract and smarter so has a more positive impact on the game despite the lack of highlight real plays.

I'm sure Okafor will be available come trade deadline time.
