2014 Off-Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Only reason I'd be able to live with firing Chud is if we get a top candidate (O'Brien, etc.). If it's just settling for another coach, then what's the point?

If we could snag O'Brien, I'd be all for it. Doesn't seem likely though.

Might as well keep Chud if we're settling for a shitty retread like McDaniels.

Oy vey.. Just.. why?

Why not just name a different head coach every damn year?

Here's the thing, if they want O'Brien & they couldn't get him last season, but still liked him as a candidate, then why would hire a young, well regarded 1st time head coaching candidate & not a stopgap type?

If Chud is fired, we'll be on our 7th FT Head Coach since '99 (next year will be the 16th year)

Before the move: 8 FT Head Coaches in 50 years.

Second half collapse was necessary to (hopefully) get a QB. We weren't winning a Superbowl with Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden out there.

Stupid shit. Stop rotating coaches every other year.

Chud hasn't had a Qb or running game the entire season. That's the FO's fault.

Why would any halfway decent coaching candidate want to come to Cleveland given our organizational turmoil?

I think that, regardless of this team's defects, the FO believes they still should be better than 4-11. The fact that the Browns are middle-of-the-pack or better in both total offense and total defense and just sent five players to the Pro Bowl is evidence in that direction. And it's undeniable they've cratered in the 2nd half.

Underachieving as a whole and falling apart down the stretch don't reflect well on the head coach.

Wait, I thought O'Brien was on his way to be the next Texans head coach?

Would be hysterical if we fire him after on year. A whole front office shakeup, their hire and then dropping him after one year. Priceless.

I predict that we'll fire Chud, try to get O'Brien only to lose out (why would he possibly want us over Texas or any other hire?) and then end up with another retread who wouldn't be much better than Chud was.

Because this franchise is bad, is why. Bad franchises continue to make bad decisions. What a joke if they fire him.

Come on, who is going to win with a shitty QB tandem of Brandon WEEDEN and Campbell. These guys are horrible. You're overachieving if you can 4 games with either of these stiffs.

I think the front office for the Browns are a bunch of monkey's personally. I don't buy a real human being is making decisions upstairs.

Too bad they couldn't sell Chip Kelly on the job last year.

He was obviously the right choice.

We can't get Kelly now, but his OC has worked wonders with Nick Foles.
