East is crazy right now. after20 games, the difference between the best in the conference and not in the playoffs at all, Is 2games.
The difference between the best and3rd worst in the conference is a mere 1win every five games.

FOrget the Warriors, just watching the Spurs play and comparing them to the Cavs right now there is a chasm. There they are playing a crappy team w/o Leonard and Duncan and handling their business tonight. That's the same Philly team that gave us fits twice. Players have to pull their had out of their ass.

Porzingis is going to be a freaking stud in a few years when he gets a little more meat on his bones.
His length is ridiculous and he is turning into a very good shot blocker.
He could end up being a Dirk/Gasol hybrid that plays defense, which would be a force.
I am amazed at how far along his game is already compared to what people said before the draft.
Props to Phil for taking the heat and drafting him rather than trading the pick for something that could help more immediately (as was suggested at the time of the draft because Melo's window is about to slam shut).

What years were Ariza's contract years. Always feels like he's underachieved but then a a couple of seasons he looks pretty darn good.
Certainly seems like:
Signed with Houston in 2014 had a PER close to 16 the season before
His only season previously above 15 before that or since was in 2008-9 which again was before he signed a contract with Houston.

Charlotte, Orlando, Miami, and Indiana are all gonna be playoff teams this year, I think.
So that means you have to find four teams that made it last year that won't this year. I've already said Washington ain't making it. Looks like Milwaukee won't either. Brooklyn definitely isn't. But now who is the fourth? Chicago, Boston, Cleveland, Atlanta or Toronto. At this point, I'd say I have the least amount of faith in Chicago, but who knows. East is gonna be a fun race this year.

One of the worst, most ill advised shots I have ever seen. Down 2 the guy fires up a half courter with plenty of time on the clock but did hit it to win the game by a point.
