2015 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's just trying to be as accurate as he can when it comes to the Browns.

Seriously when you have 5 1st round picks in 3 years and do not have 1 starter out of that group, you deserve to be mocked.

If the past dictates the future we end up with a tradeup for Shelton first because he controls the line of scrimmage, deflating fans because the trade up didn't seem necessary. They would then settle for Hundley with their next pick because the Brows love the start of the second tier of QBs.

We trade up from 12 to 11 giving up a 3 and a 5. (Guess who has #11, Minnesota of course) I will argue that it's worth the value since they get the impact player they need but it will soon come out that the Vikings had Shelton off their board because of medical concerns and no real trade partners other than the Browns. In the end, Shelton of course will show promise on a play or 2 but will largely be a non-factor.

12 - Kevin White - WR - WVU (over Dante Fowler)
19 - Jordan Phillips - NT - Oklahoma

I will take White on this team, no questions asked. Phillips is a monster, but I wonder how many snaps he can handle a season with his back issues.

I have been in the process of moving for work and have not been keeping up on draft news enough to this point...

So can someone explain to me what happened with Mariota? I cannot fathom Winston going #1 and Mariota falling to #6. And if that does seem to be where he is most likely to fall, the Browns better trade up and grab him. He's got his question marks and a big transition in front of him, but he's got the physical tools, high character, and intelligence you want in a QB prospect.

Boogie just make a mock where we end up with Fowler. He's the guy this year.

One from each group in the first and I'm stoked:

Williams
Ray
Gregory
Fowler
Shelton

Cooper
Parker
White

At least one of those guys should be there for our pick. Hopefully anyways.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this...

Kevin O'Connell, the Browns' new QB coach (in waiting), is finishing up some of his prior engagements before officially joining the staff. One of those prior engagements is preparing Marcus Mariota for the draft. Take from that what you will, but it sounds like he's been working with QBs in this fashion since he left the NFL as a player. If that's the case, I'm not overly concerned about him being a QB coach on a pro squad.. A guy who's been through the NFL and has experience with young QBs. Not bad for an undesirable position, really.

Anyone have a list of guys he has worked with? I know Manziel. What about Geno Smith or other guys like that? Could clue us in on who the Browns might be targeting in FA, Trades or the draft.

He works with Prolific Athletes, a facility out in San Diego.

Not sure what their client list is like, I'm not sure of the full list or who he specifically worked with either.

I know Petty and Winston are out there, in addition to Mariota.

Official list? No... I do know that he worked with Logan Thomas and Johnny Manziel in 2014. I am pretty sure he didn't work with Whitfield before 2013 (in the NFL), but he's there again working with Mariota.

Didn't we go over the paper clip question when it happened, like last year? There isn't enough crap being written about the Browns, we gotta recycle it?

Divergent thinking is a real thing. I'm guessing the Browns want to make sure a guy can figure out the complexities of the NFL game. In plain english, they're trying to make sure the guy isn't a mental midget (insert Johnny joke). About the Johnny joke you're making, it's called alcoholism and many smart people are ruined by it.

In being able to decipher more uses for the item than another, the interviewer can learn how well that person diagnosis a situation and better yet, how quick they can come up with real solutions to said issue. Improvising.

But, let's just do the 19 year old college kid thing and make fun of it because we don't understand it.
