2015 Cleveland Browns Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So who first reports it that "Pryor was a Farmer guy, when he was suspended. Pettine turned around and let him go. There is a bigger riff between the two than we thought."

I will Grossi in about 10 mins.

I would buy this argument if the team was primed for a successful season. The Browns can afford to let a special teams guy go and wait and see on a project receiver.

Again, I don't think it's a big deal, as I actually did think it was a long shot Pryor would ever accomplish anything at the position, but I don't agree with letting him go in favor of average veterans who likely wouldn't have a big role on this team if it were actually good (Moore, Hartline, Bowe, etc..). I would have rather have kept Davis off the roster too, as I don't think they need a 3rd QB right now.

It's a small move, not that impactful, but I still disagree with it.

The front office and coaching staff doesn't view it that way. They want to win now. Jobs can be on the line. They don't have time to sit around and wait for a project to never develop on their watch.

I rather have Davis on the roster than Pryor. Davis might be the best QB on this team! lol

I'm not a huge Ohio State fan, I'm casual as it gets. So I never had any feelings for Pryor at all. But I was curious and interested in how he'd transition to the position too.

I am a bit disappointed he got waived. But if they manage to sign him back to the practice squad, then all is well.

He isn't going to be brought back and he has played too many games to be signed to a practice squad.:

Going to make us pay just like Greg Little.

With Farmer being suspended, who was the one that pulled the strings on this move and how fast are they going to lose their job?

Bill Kuharich, who worked above Farmer in KC will be the "GM" while Farmer is gone. Gotta believe that Pettine has more say for the next 4 weeks.

@Soda

I guess for me from an excitement standpoint. TP was it.
And now its gone.

I am not excited about Mcown or the offense at all. The Defense will most likely be on the field too much.

I find myself being an optimistic fan in general, but this team does the same GD thing every freaking year.

So you string TP along and initially have him make your 53. And then cut him for a mediocre running back who has a history of injuries. Brilliant move. And, the Browns milked this for PR. Which is bush league.

And dont get me started on over the hill Dwayne Bowe. Total Bum.

This is such a Browns type of move. 16 years of this crap. It hasn't changed.

Unless Josh Mcown turns into Jesus Christ they are going to win at the very most 5 games.

I hope I am wrong. I want to be wrong. I want to eat crow.

Pryor wasn't going to get many snaps at receiver for at least the first 8-10 weeks, if any at all.

Just pointing that out for those that honestly expected him to play much, if at all this year at the position.

He was literally dead last on the depth cart for the position. The Browns probably were just going to use him in the wild cat on occasion and on special teams. That's it.

If he doesn't get claimed he'll probably be signed back to the practice squad.

I mean, I was curious how Pryor would do. But the Browns evaluate him in practice and they must feel he's a long way off from actually producing.

If he goes somewhere else and does well, then yeah, this hurts.

Robert Turbin is pretty good. It's not like they waived him for someone absolutely horrible.

Is he eligible for the practise squad?

I'm not mad about adding Robert Turbin, but why cut Pryor over Marlon Moore or Rob Housler? That's the part that annoys me. Marlon Moore is a total and complete non-entity and waste of a roster spot. We aren't talking about Josh Cribbs level special teams ability here. I just... thank god the Cavs start in a few months.

Because as much of a non-entity that you think Marlon Moore and Rob Housler are Terrelle Pryor was a bigger non-entity :dunno:

I think it just shows they expected next to nothing from Pryor at receiver this year. They viewed him more as a special teams player.

And if they view Marlon Moore as the better of the two on special teams, then Pryor is the odd man out.

I'm not saying I agree with it, just trying to explain the Browns logic on why they waived him.

If this comes back to haunt us, then this is an utter disappointment. I think if the Browns seriously expected something from Pryor as a receiver this year, they wouldn't have done this.

You just got to ask yourself, why is he on the roster then? To be a wild cat QB at times?

We will see if it was a good decision or not.

How long must Turbin be on the roster before he is eligible to be waived? Seems odd that they would claim him when we only have 2 RBs on the roster and one is coming off a concussion. He wasn't checked out by the Browns doctors, right?

Bummer.

Pryor gave me a reason to watch other than obligation.

I really like Turbin. I've had my eye on him for a while and I'm moderately excited they pick him up.

That being said I'm disappointed and surprised they dropped Pryor instead of someone like Housler or Bibbs. I was intrigued to see what Pyror could do.
