2015 Cleveland Browns Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Easy for you and I to say. The Browns, however, need to care about Special Teams coverage and value Moore as a contributor somewhere on the roster. Pryor is a project, thus he really doesn't have much of a role; a spot on the 53 means you need to produce somewhere.
I would buy this argument if the team was primed for a successful season. The Browns can afford to let a special teams guy go and wait and see on a project receiver.

Again, I don't think it's a big deal, as I actually did think it was a long shot Pryor would ever accomplish anything at the position, but I don't agree with letting him go in favor of average veterans who likely wouldn't have a big role on this team if it were actually good (Moore, Hartline, Bowe, etc..). I would have rather have kept Davis off the roster too, as I don't think they need a 3rd QB right now.

It's a small move, not that impactful, but I still disagree with it.

I don't want to debate something so innocuous, but regardless whether or not the team is "primed for success", they're trying for it. The players and coaches are, anyways. Fans want to get the first pick, so that's where our collective heads seem to gravitate.

They see Moore as someone who can help them win now. They don't want a project, they want to win football games.

You have no number 1 WR, not even a real go-to guy besides Hartlin, yet we care so much about special teams at the moment.

Don't get me wrong, I believe ST is important, but right now with next to nothing at wide out? I don't like it.

Especially after you DON'T cut him when the 53 man rosters were due. Nobody knows what TP could become, but the kid definitely has talent.

He may not be Randy Moss, but he has more upside than anyone else the Browns currently have at WR.

Fair POV, but he was 7th out of 7 on the depth chart. If you believe there's next to nothing at WR on the roster, then aren't you saying that TP is among the worst of the worst? I mean, since he's not above any of those scrubs?

Anytime you have the chance to sign a #3 RB that will be out for at least half the season you gotta do it.

Didn't realize the season was so short...

If he doesn't get claimed he'll probably be signed back to the practice squad.

I mean, I was curious how Pryor would do. But the Browns evaluate him in practice and they must feel he's a long way off from actually producing.

If he goes somewhere else and does well, then yeah, this hurts.

Robert Turbin is pretty good. It's not like they waived him for someone absolutely horrible.

While he may be 7th, you don't know what he can become.. He didn't play much in preseason, he had some strong camps before the hammy injury.

Not only that, you waive him for a back who won't play for a few weeks.

Logic.

I'm 50/50 on this decision though. I was intrigued by the prospects of Pryor. The Browns better be pretty certain he won't blossom into a pretty good receiver though. If Pryor does then they got egg on their face over this decision.

I am a bit surprised though they did this.

Out for a month according to his agents. The Seahawks wanted to IR him. Who do you trust? Either way it doesn't really matter because his impact will be minimal with this franchise.

If you don't really understand it, why gravitate to loser mentality? I'm going to wait and see, although I did have hope that Pryor could add some needed size to the WR corps.

We cut the last receiver on the depth chart. A guy that was in the process of switching to an entirely new position. What a questionable move! It is like they are trying to start the tanking already! :chuckle:

I've never heard more immaturity as a response to a Browns move as is going on on Twitter... The instant reaction has been pretty embarrassing...
I totally agree. It was a guy we were keeping on the squad solely for potential. But at a point where: he isn't ready to contribute this week; he hasn't shown anything that would demonstrate his potential as a receiver to be sky-high; and that we are weak in his position as is I don't understand why people are that upset.

With Farmer being suspended, who was the one that pulled the strings on this move and how fast are they going to lose their job?
