2015 Cleveland Browns Training Camp Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm guessing MoFlo is backing away slowly from his optimistic takes on the Bowe signing and Mayle pick. I never liked the Mayle pick, but I'm dissapointed Bowe has proven every doubters right so far.

I don't think I mentioned one way or another if I liked the Mayle pick. I believe I posted some positive tweets regarding him, but not anything else.

And I still like the Bowe signing. I highly highly doubt we cut him.

Silva is trolling hard. He contradicts himself in his own tweet, saying the Browns have had poor WR evaluation and based on that, Bowe will go off with another team.. yet, that same evaluation also signed Bowe.. so, if there's bad evaluation, wouldn't Bowe bust regardless, since we signed him?

So which is it? Is it a bad signing because of the bad evaluation or will Bowe tear it up elsewhere because of the bad evaluation? Can't be both..

I think he's saying Bowe has talent, and that the awesome Browns front office/coaching history suggests we will send him packing, then he will catch on with another team and have a good season.

Meanwhile we value the 4th rounder that "can't run or catch" and he gives us nothing a year.

Not a very bold prediction, honestly.

The Browns aren't cutting Bowe. They are not that stupid (maybe they are).

Off topic, but I HATE the unnecessary/misuse of the word "literally."

One of my biggest pet peeves.

I know @Randolphkeys has to notice this in society.

I literally hate when the word is misused.

I figuratively want to kill the person misusing it.

The Bowe signing made perfect sense at that point in free agency, as did the Hartline signing. They were good values. That said, investing a higher pick in a receiver is long overdue, and spending over 5 million on a passing weapon who is a bona-fide starter should have been in the budget. The Browns will spend more on Phil Taylor sitting on his couch than any offensive player who isn't on the line. They invested more money and higher picks on backup defensive linemen than any non-line offensive starter.

Define "higher pick". If by one of our past few 1st rounders, I'm not a fan of taking a WR that high at all. If by 2nd/3rd rounds, I could have lived with us taking one then.

I'm a big fan of investing more into the lines than any other position (besides QB, of course), so that doesn't bother me at all.

Pulling for Lenz and Pryor tonight. More of wishful thinking on Pryor that he could be good really.

I would say AJ Green, Mike Evans, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham, Dez Bryant, and Calvin Johnson provide great value to their team. I'm not a fan of drafting a WR high just to take one, but if the guy is a great talent (sorry, not Breshad Perriman), like an Amari Cooper or Kevin White, you need to go after it.

We can speak generally: Yes, those are great guidelines; however, never breaking from a guideline and following it like it's an orthodoxy leaves a team without balance. Playoff teams do not suffer from such drastic talent imbalance. That is the type of team we will be watching this season.

If we were to speak specifically, we can fill a short novel. I hope we can agree this franchise hasn't nailed everything the past few years. An easy argument can be made they lost more than they won as a front office.

Thad Lewis X.X

Hard to evaluate Pryor/Bowe/anyone when he can't get anyone the ball.

I doubt Lenz makes this team. He's a practice squad guy if they can sneak him on there.

I think it's a coin flip if they keep Bowe. If they cut him it's because they have their eyes on someone else either in trade or a recently released guy.

Pryor would be a better 3rd string QB than Lewis and the Browns apparently are thinking about it since he just ran the read option. Don't waste a roster spot on this bum.

Can't watch right now, I'm recording when NFL Network plays it. It sounds like a dumpster fire across the board with Lewis's numbers mirroring McCown and Manziel: high completion percentage and less than 6 yards per attempt. In other words, enjoy the Year of the Dink and Dunk!

Lewis should and will be apart of the cuts. No need to carry a 3rd QB anyways, if it comes to that point we'll sign one.
