2015 Cleveland Browns Training Camp Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If Manziel is not healthy I wonder if they go after someone like Matt Barkley as the backup QB. Barkley is going to lose his backup job to Tim Tebow of all people.

Thad Lewis is having an AWFUL game

I see them playing it safe and sticking with Lewis, hoping he'd play better with the 1st team if it were to come to that.

I'm not much a conspiracy theorist at all, but part of me thinks Thad was doing his best to sabotage TP because he knew Pryor having any success most likely had the exact opposite effect to him in regard to making the team. I counted zero targets for Pryor. Thad also made zero effort to make a block for Pryor on one of those read options, which I thought was odd considering Thad is fighting for a roster spot as well. I think we can all safely assume the coaching staff wanted to get a nice look at Pryor. I noticed he seemed engaged in blocking which is always nice. Not sure if he was getting open or not.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed weird to me.

I would say AJ Green, Mike Evans, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham, Dez Bryant, and Calvin Johnson provide great value to their team. I'm not a fan of drafting a WR high just to take one, but if the guy is a great talent (sorry, not Breshad Perriman), like an Amari Cooper or Kevin White, you need to go after it.

Not taking Beckham and Bridgewater is going to haunt this team forever.

Assuming we don't find our franchise QB in the next draft.

One positive, IIRC, is that the Browns didn't lose any regular contributors to injury for the season during the preseason. Seems pretty rare for that to happen.

I thought the same thing. Every catch Pryor woud of caught was a nail in the coffin for lewis. Also if Lewis cant run the offense to score at least once on the bears 3rd stringers, whats the point of keeping him. Pryor knows flips offense and if he can run the read option like he did tonight, he is a better 3rd qb than Lewis.

I think every name mentioned here weren't going to make the active roster.

I just don't see a scenario where we keep Bowe and Pryor.

Hartline, Hawkins, Gabriel, Benji, and Moore are shoe ins.

They probably keep three running backs and four TEs. (Johnson, West, and Crowell/ Dray Gary, Housler, and Bibbs(FB?))

That's 12 roster spots. 17 with two qbs, three specialists.

36 spots for line and defense seems a bit slim.

Please no, Barkley is a dog with fleas.

Yeah, you're probably wrong.

Housler gets axed, IMO.

Hoss Barnidge, Jim Dray and Bibbs get the nod.

Hard to see them carrying seven WRs though.

It's Dray Day, everybody.

The pre-season performance leads me to believe this. Let me ask your opinion. Do you think that Dray could be the one in jeopardy seeing as how he and Bibbs can be a bit redundant? If we assume that Bibbs will play TE and also slide into the backfield at times, wouldn't Housler be the type of skill-set the Browns would need at that position?
