2015 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That would honestly just be golden for USC. They want to fire him already anyway and that gives them a really, really handy excuse to do it.

If there are two programs that should never, ever struggle for more than one season at a time to contend for their conference title it's USC and Texas. They are, by far, the premier programs in the two best high school football states in the country (along with the state of Florida, but the state of Florida has three prominent football programs, so more competition). It's incredible to me when people go to those two jobs and fail.

Arizona State probably feels pretty shitty for losing that game.

Grier (Florida QB) suspended for season for PEDs. LOL!

UF will never again prosper.

Edit: It must be Urban's fault.

Dude gained 43 pounds in a year.

Said this on another forum, but if Tom Herman wasn't in year one at Houston, I think he'd be the perfect choice for USC. He grew up and went to college in Southern California, plus he's got the right persona for the job (great charisma and confidence). As we know from his OSU days and early returns at Houston, recruiting isn't a problem for the guy either. I just don't know if USC can justify hiring a guy with one year of head coaching experience.

Steve Spurrier just retired, he's done.

Holy shit what a Monday in College Football.

The guy who left college football because he hated recruiting and sucking up to boosters is going to go to one of the worst places for both?
Well, if no one wants him in the NFL, it's either college or nothing.

Was that his excuse?

I thought he left for what should have been inevitable sanctions against him & his program.

Have a hard time seeing one of the most patient owners in the NFL firing Chip Kelly after 3 years, especially coming off of back-to-back 10 win seasons. Just think its ridiculous that hes even being brought up...guy is one of the 3 most powerful coaches in the NFL right now, why would he leave.

Ask yourself this...has Oregon received any sanctions against them in the years since he has been gone? Unlike when Pete Carroll left USC, Oregon hasn't been punished for shit, that's just the popular excuse to use when college coaches jump rank to the NFL (same shit was said about Saban at LSU).

And those are excuses? Coaching a college team is a full time job as is, but recruiting from Oregon where you have to go out of state for nearly all of your recruits is an additional full time job...shit would get old fast for me...same goes for sucking up to rich douches who think they can do your job better than you, especially when you are as arrogant as Chip Kelly.
