I agree with that and I like Cardale more.I don't hate Cardale. But assuming the play-calling is going to stay similar, JT is the much better fit.

The last two plays were perfect examples. But I totally agree, if we're not going to throw the ball deep and/or power-run, than JT is far and away the better choice. Why that is the case I have no idea but I'll trust Meyer.And yes the play-calling as a whole leaves a lot to be desired.
Either Elliot is hurt or the coaching staff doesn't believe he can be a workhorse back for an entire season. They refuse to just lean on him for even a drive, let alone a half, let alone a game. It's like they are trying to save him for later in the season.
