Anybody out there actually think NY is going to win this game? KC is so clutch.

Jesus the Mets deserve to lose. They've been pathetic in crunch time.

But the Royals should be given some credit here. They've been doing this all postseason. Set a record for most comebacks I believe.

Thanks for thinking an opinion is funny @Walter White

This series came down to 2 plays. Gordon's HR in game 1, Murphy's error in game 4. 162 + games and it comes down to 2 key plays...why baseball will always be special.

Yeah, I'm not taking anything away from KC. But Familia has had like three blown saves now right?

Happy for KC. They do things the right way and are a good mix of talent development and spending when needed.

You said it before the series, but I had to mess with you a little bit having the hindsight. It's still positive rep :p

The series was closer than the final outcome indicates. There were more key errors than just those plays. Even going back through the Blue Jays series to the start of the playoffs. But there is no doubting this Royals team is one that fights hard to the end and is hard to kill. They have an insane amount of comebacks and it is no accident. Slightly unexplainable maybe, but they just have something special.

I really only started watching baseball 5-6 years ago. I finally had cable and got the chance to watch some baseball. And I got to go to 2 or 3 Royals games I think its four years ago now and really enjoyed it. That is when I started getting into it.

Then their last two postseason runs really got me into baseball and made me love it. I used to hate baseball as a kid and pretty much only had room to love basketball. I never thought in a million years I'd love baseball, but this Royals team made me love it. Amazing performances seemingly every game that just blew my mind. Never had so much fun in my life. Great group of guys that really love each other too and I've rarely seen chemistry like these guys have in ANY sport.

This Royals team is talented. But arguably every team they have faced has just as much talent, if not more (or MUCH more). But they won because they fight to the end, have so much heart, and have such great chemistry. And always believed. Sounds ridiculous, but Royals have done so many ridiculous things consistently the last two postseasons that you almost expect it.

I'm happy for all the people that have been watching the Royals their whole life and all of the people who have suffered through the tough times. A small market winning in the MLB might be the hardest thing to do in any sport. I never thought I would see a Kansas City team win a championship in my lifetime.

Yea. But Royals even hit well off their starters. Even Syndergaard would have been pulled early if Ventura didn't give up a lead. Harvey was the best tonight by far, but eventually they got him to crack in the 9th.
Congrats Walter White. Hopefully this will be the Tribe next year.

Thanks guys. Indians are sort of my second team by default, but now that I'm getting more into baseball I'll have to keep an eye on them more. I wish you guys well. I love to see teams that have long suffered succeed. We need the small markets to take over.

As someone who grew up with those late 90's, early 2000's Royals, I NEVER thought they'd do it. Then to do it like they did? Simply amazing. Still can't put into words how great these last two years have been.

People really shouldn't be too surprised the Royals won this series. The Royals are notorious for two things offensively: putting the ball in play and their ability to hit fastballs. The Mets' starters, with the exception of Matz, were fastball-heavy pitchers. They also had, to put it kindly, a below average defense (and their bullpen sucked).

So what happens when you have a fastball-hitting, contact heavy team against fastball pitchers and a bad defense? Pretty much what happened.
