2016 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I agree with this, however this team as is scares me ss there any more of a safe risk out there because the line up needs something to glue it together. Puig unless we get him for nothing yeah no way. What about Alexi Ramirez?

Why...just...why...I mean, really...why

Just threw a name out there. who else is there even as that was kinda my reason behind this post. Either we take a chance or we end up with Rios or Ramirez and we can all see this coming like it or not. I hope the Indians shock me or stand put and pray this team plays to its potential.

Why, if you are throwing names out, would you throw out a guy who only plays SS?

And our major acquisition won't be coming from a free agent signing...so don't even bother looking at free agents.

He can play 3B right? Oh no I am thinking of the Wrong Ramirez. Basically I am wondering just what you were saying. What is realistic with this team to get that bat we need. It seems there is no real option than fringe players who might help in a play off run in FA so I agree with you.

No...and his bat doesn't profile to 3B either...and he sure as shit isn't playing over Lindor...

Very rarely are big bats on the free agent market...the ones that really pay off are flyers on prove it deals like Kendrys Morales just had for KC, or Nelson Cruz with Baltimore...guys who casual followers will think are terrible moves with no payoff...this is the kind of guy the Indians sign, like a Danny Valencia type this year...but they will also trade off a starter for a bat this winter IMO.

Yeah I was hoping get around trading a starter but if it has to be done. I just wonder what player might become available. Ozuna is rumored to have been this winter but I am not sure what he would command.

Ozuna would be acquired under what would most likely be a Bauer package (Bauer and a low tier prospect for Ozuna and a low tier prospect), which I think most of us will take at this moment.

I've said for awhile the only entrenched starter I am okay with trading off is Bauer, and unless a huge name like Goldschmidt or Schwarber/Soler become available, he will probably be the one who is dangled for a bat.

Oh yeah well put and I agree. Schwarber had his name thrown around for pitching and I would part for him in no time. If they go asking for Salazar though eh...

If we trade with Chicago for one of their young, big bats, it will most likely be centered on a deal with Carrasco.

I feel Salazar has more appeal that is just me though. Carrasco I never thought about trading at all at this point to see if he can keep this up. I can see that though and there is a lot of Tomlin hype of late so yeah I feel a starter is out as you do. If it is one of Salazar or Corrasco to trade who would you part with, I am assuming Salazar but he still has so much going for him.

League wide view, Carrasco > Salazar...cost controlled pitching is the most valuable commodity in baseball, and Carrasco is locked up on a friendly deal for a while...and we already have connected interest between the Cubs and Carrasco from this past trade deadline...where I am getting that from.

Bauer is the odd man out...I want nothing to do with trading Carrasco or Salazar unless it leads to a sure thing bat.

I get it now as I figured as such but Baseball is such a different animal. I agree with what you said and why I would rather stand pat than give up anyone not named Bauer. I think even he will be a great pitcher. Lindor might be the key for our team on offense and defense. We are one true hitter away from being complete. Well I assume they will fix the minor bullpen problem.

Brantley's probably a 2nd half of the year player only next year

Should put him on track for May/June return.

At least it's not the throwing shoulder.
