2017 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I keep trying to find a reason to be upset with the thought of Leonard Fournette on this team and I can't find any.

If he stays healthy, that dude is a guaranteed premium.

I feel like he can plow through people in that Jim Brown style. Like there's a certain violence to his running that the Cleveland fans will love. Not saying we will draft him, but if we do, I won't be upset.

Honestly just give me two studs at 1 and 12... would be awesome to watch two young guys tearing it up (hopefully they hit on more picks too but you get my drift)

I feel that Garrett is a lock at #1. If Fournette falls to 12 you almost have to take him (even though I really can't see him falling this far). And then trade for Jimmy to man the ship. Those are all game changing moves that practically make the Browns relevant again immediately.

Either way, they should be able to nab a nice stud at 12.

I would be so happy with this. Shit, replace Fournette with Hooker or Adams and I'd be just as happy.

2nd most naturally talented guy in the draft, don't think he makes it to us at #12 though. Health + mental toughness are potential concerns, but Browns should be able to decipher through interviews.

I just feel we need to get Def and OLine before a RB. RBs seem to be able to be found in any round as long as we have the OLine for them. It would be hard for me to take Cook or Fournette at 12, since to me there is good players that are needs available at that time that wouldn't be a stretch either.

I, personally, would pass on Cook at 12 (he might be there), but I think Fournette is just too good of a player to pass up at 12 (I don't think he'll be there). Yes, I believe we have other needs, but I'm sure we will plug those gaps with our plethora of other picks (especially if we don't trade for Jimmy QB).

Dalvin will be a stud. Just has all around great skills with the ball in his hands. So many things you can do with a guy like that.

Just please take Garrett at 1 and don't look back! Then take BPA at 12. We need studs!

@AZ_ and anyone else.

Interested in doing a top 15 or 30 prospects? I'd love to do it if anyone else would be interested in doing one.

Here is a list of my Top 15 players as we head into the offseason.

1. Myles Garrett - EDGE - Texas A&M - What can be said that hasn't been already? He's an elite edge defender who has dramatically improved against the run, making him the most complete player in this draft and one of the best prospects I've seen in a long time.

2. Jonathan Allen - DL - Alabama - He's got the right size and natural athleticism to excel at the next level. What makes him truly great is how advanced he is with his hand placement and playing with leverage at the point of attack. Just tossing blockers away and making countless stops against the run.

3. Solomon Thomas - DL - Stanford - The closest thing to Aaron Donald since he exploded into the league a few years ago. I admittedly slept on Thomas because I didn't see much of Stanford this year, but after his performance in the bowl game I went back and watched a few of his games. Incredibly explosive for his size, he's going to blow out the combine. Just too fast to be blocked by guys on the interior.

4. Derek Barnett - EDGE - Tennessee - He's got a quicker first step than Myles Garrett and is probably stronger at the point of attack right now as well. Has natural bend and dips underneath tackles with ease at times. This dude is in consideration at the top of the draft without Garrett.

5. Leonard Fournette - RB - LSU - May become the most slept on player in this draft because of all the defensive talent. He's an explosive playmaker who will dominate the league if healthy.

6. Dalvin Cook - RB - Florida State - I've got him higher than most because his lateral quickness and acceleration are perfectly suited for the blocking schemes of the NFL. Similar to Zeke at how he can jump cut to either side and seemingly land at full speed going vertically. True three-down back.

7. Jamal Adams - S - LSU - In the box safety who is more adept at tracking down runners than any safety I've seen in a long time. Takes angles at an elite level, with the closing speed and tactical skills which will make him an All-Pro.

8. Malik Hooker - S - Ohio State - The rangier, free safety prototype made a name for himself with elite skills with the ball in the air. What people may not realize is how good he is coming up in run support and his tackling ability. He's been coached very well and it shows.

9. Reuben Foster - ILB - Alabama - The best in a long line of MIKE backers to come out of Tuscaloosa. He's a missile, great at stretching plays out laterally and closing on the ball. Scheme independent, he can play in any defense and excel because of his skill-set.

10. Ryan Ramczyk - OT - Wisconsin - Best OT Wisconsin has produced since Joe Thomas. He's got great feet and uses his hands well, getting him to the second level when called upon. His lack of experience and hip injury could hurt his draft stock, but he'll be an elite player in the league if healthy.

11. Mike Williams - WR - Clemson - As many saw in the National Championship game, his ability to go get the ball in the air is elite. Overall, he can make plays all over the field and has the size/speed combo to be an elite receiver in this league.

12. TJ Watt - OLB - Wisconsin - His motor and instincts for the position will ensure he overachieves his natural ability at the next level. Well coached at shedding blockers against the run and wrapping up.

13. OJ Howard - TE - Alabama - Not sure I've seen a more complete tight end in a number of years. The athleticism of a wide receiver, he's got great hands, blocks well. Total package for the position and a future All-Pro.

14. Teez Tabor - CB - Good hips and turn and run ability, despite not being the fastest guy out there. Has a big frame and can probably play more physical if he's coached properly in the NFL.

15. Zach Cunningham - ILB - Vanderbilt - This dude is such an enigma but I can't help but put him on this list. When you watch the tape he plays high and gets blocked out of plays too often, but he just racks up tackles and big plays to the point where you can see his potential shine through.

@Amherstcavsfan

A project I'd like to take a chance on in later rounds is Akron WR, Jerome Lane Jr. (yes the son of THAT Jerome Lane). Spent his 1st season in college playing linebacker and has spent the past 2 at WR. A legit 6'3" 220lbs. Still raw with a ton of upside I think. Will only be 21 in his first season in the NFL. Decent speed for a guy his size. 39/782 in his first season ever as a WR. 62/1018 in his junior season. Those stats come with spotty QB at best at times as well. Catch more of him at the combine. Soph video is below. Junior coming soon I believe.

Do you think a RB in today's pass happy offenses are a game changer though? Cant think of a rb in the last 10 years that was a true game changer and that even includes Zeke, as it was the offensive line, recieving weapons, a poised rookie QB and zeke that helped Dallas on offense.

I guess if we get a trade with NE, then i am on board to help out the offense, if not, a first round RB without having the qb of the future makes me nervous, rb's only play for 8-9 years at best.
