2017 Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wasn't Steve Young traded to the 49ers from Tampa?

Yes, but he was a starter in Tampa like Brees in SD.

Just thinking of pure backups who moved to starter at their new team.

Kurt Warner, Tony Romo and Tom Brady were also backups who didnt get much fanfare til they got their chance to start.

But none were traded to get their chance, they got their chance due to injury.

Backup to successful starter on a new team is rare, but not unheard of.

Jimmy was pretty universally known to be about a 2nd rounder. Dont know where that is coming from, his only knock was he played FCS.

Part of the value of draft picks is that you get them locked in on rookie contracts for 4 or 5 years. You don't get that with JG, you get the opportunity to hand him huge bags of cash in a year or 2. That's one reason why, to me, he's not worth much more than what the Patriots paid for him (the 62nd pick in the draft), if at all.
I would Agree with great QB's prospects in 2017 NFL draft but they are garbage.

If the discussion is "great" QB prospects, JG doesn't belong either.

Fair value, to me would be a second and a conditional pick in 2018, which would only go as high as another second rounder.

Anything more and there isn't enough value there.

How the fuck does that loser con his employer into sending him to the Super Bowl?

Is everyone giving up on rgIII?

IIRC, he's been going to the Super Bowl every year for decades. Even when the Browns weren't around. My guess is he has that as a deal-breaker in his contract.

He is also a HoF voter, so he would most likely go on his own dime anyway.

I have to look up what IIRC means every time I see it.

He's probably one of the douches that didn't vote TO in again.

Seems like a 'holier-than-thou' move that would be right up his alley.
