Sad part is we are still a competitive team at the end of the day. None of us like the fact we are going with so many unproven guys this season, but we have the best rotation in baseball and could be the best in modern MLB history if everyone stays healthy. Also most owners aren’t willing to go into the red during a season in any sport, regardless of who it is. We got spoiled with the fact Gilbert is willing to do that to win, but that’s not most owners. The Cleveland organization for the most part has been one of the most well ran baseball organizations in baseball by a long shot. The FO trusts Francona to make the right decisions and seems like he is always in the loop for players coming in and out. Dolan in return trusts the FO to make the right decisions with the pocket book he has given them. People also forget it is the younger Dolan running the team and since he has taken over, the payroll has stayed high and so has the wins as well. We gotta trust the brains in place right now, since they have proven they can make the right moves.
One positive note is the fact we got a lot younger and we have a ton of young talent coming through the system now as well. This year and next year are the times to win with the current group, but sincerely I feel and so does anyone who understands our farm system, it will be a short rebuild if not even a retooling year to get back into the playoffs. BimboColesHair and AZ_ know minor leagues well and I think both can agree the talent we have is just insane at the lower levels. In projection our 2022/23 roster could easily be a team comprising almost entirely of our raised farm kids and young players acquired by dealing Kluber/Lindor etc. that’s really almost unheard of. We are going to stay contenders for a long time it feels like cause of how well the organization is ran right now
