2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If you watch that highlight video he is boxing guys out the whole time and actually draws a foul boxing a guy out, who then proceeds to toss bol out of the way.

I watched 2.5 of their 4 games in full, including that one. I recommend watching the Iowa game if you want to see the rebounding issues on multiple occasions.

It's not just the highlight video either...I actually watched that game, and he does generally seem to have good defensive fundamentals. He just has a very high center of gravity so he gets pushed around a lot by all** bigs.

fixed lol

He's certainly not as engaged/focused as he should be a lot of the time, but I think it's misleading to talk like he's an unskilled big who just gets rebounds by being tall and alive. That's all I'm trying to say.

fixed lol

This...this is fair :chuckle:

Wonders if people criticizing him have watched him play...

proceeds to clip a highlights video.

Ughhh, ok next time I’ll search this on YouTube: “fuck-ups by Bol Bol.”

You know, since I’m trying to show his positives.... therefore a detailed highlight video showing many different things he did in one game was obviously too logical to post.

And for what it’s worth, I’ve now watched 3 of his games in total. I see plenty of negatives and plenty of positives, but the potential is there. I stand by what I said: he’s not in the top 3 of this draft, but he’s solidified comfortably in the 4-6 range.

Seriously though...what if Bol finishes the season averaging around 20/10/4, which seems reasonably likely? That would be among the best statistical seasons ever by a college big, let alone by a freshman. I would be shocked if he does that and then isn't drafted in the top-5.

It's still too early to make any definitive statements, but at what point do we start to get worried about Barrett's ability to score efficiently, especially in the half court? Even a lot of his makes are with guys draped all over him. The game will open up for him if he becomes a knockdown shooter, but he's far from a good shooter at this point.

I also think that Reddish has some Devin Booker potential in the sense that he may spend the entire year playing as an off ball shooter and everyone won't have a good idea of everything he can do with the ball in his hands.

If we got Zion, it would be great to have a facilitator and/or perimeter threat to open up the game for him. I like Sexton, but I don't know how they fit together. It could work but wouldn't be ideal when it comes to fit.

Aaaaaand, I officially miss the 2018 draft class :chuckle:

Yeah the Duke 3 are really struggling against Gonzaga right now.

R.J. and Zion are really struggling against their length. It looks really concerning for Zion in particular. And Cam looks terrible today: completely out of control drives to the basket. Hoping to see a run from these guys the rest of the way that can bring us some solace when the Lakers maul us later.

I guess Rui Hachimura looks good . . . if that helps.

I posted in the wrong thread yesterday but looking forward to Hachimura vs Zion. Hachimura is becoming to be very popular here in Japan and it will be a huge hit for a Japanese player to be successful in the NBA. This game will either help his stock rise or fall.

Um...I'm gonna go with "rise" for now. He's looked like easily the best player on the court.

I have to watch the game when I get home from work. Very excited to watch him as many here have been huge fans.

Watching Duke.

I’m not super impressed by Zion outside sheer explosive ability. His handle is ass For a perimeter NBA player. He’s at risk of being a fat ass before age 27. Though he may not be our problem at that point. He seems to make his living on being a effing giant human who moves at an inhuman speed. Harder to live on that once you get to the NBA

Barrett looks weirdly robotic in his movement. hes Lucky this game is early in the season because he’d be costing himself a lot of money if it were late

Who is this guy lol? Just filling up the box score - scoring, assists, blocks, rebounds
