2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Reddish reminds with of George skillset without the fire though......Wigginsesque.Rather have Barrett of the Duke boys.

Who is this guy lol? Just filling up the box score - scoring, assists, blocks, rebounds
He’s been touted as a lottery pick for a little while, he’s Japanese I believe. But man he looked great today (outside of those missed free throws that didn’t end up costing them the game.) RJ had a really rough end to that game

Barrett looks weirdly robotic in his movement. hes Lucky this game is early in the season because he’d be costing himself a lot of money if it were late

I said this last week and compared him to Andrew Wiggins. A few people disagreed but that's exactly what it reminds me off. You feel like there's a lot of athleticism there that he doesn't know how to put together on display.

If this draft has a strength, it's in the sheer volume of interesting wing prospects. Hachimura is one of them...he has great physical tools and scoring instincts, but his all-around game has taken a while to come into place. This is probably his best all-around game so far, especially considering the circumstances.

What a terrible final minute for Barrett. Rui played some very good defense.

No, he has a mental edge on Wiggins. Wiggins just doesn't want it enough.

How do you guys see the blackanese player projecting? Run of the mill/fringe rotation guy?

I mean he’s a junior.

Barrett wants it too much. He doesn't realize that Zion is better than him. 25 shot attempts from him in a game like this where he's struggling is ridiculous.

Zion is much better????? I don't see that. Zion shrunk away late and deferred to Barrett.

I think he's saying that Barrett needs to understand the game better. On that final possession he had a perfect dump off available to tie the game but he did a jump stop to his weak hand instead. He's a chucker and his handles aren't that great.

Barrett desperately wants to be The Man.

If you're gonna choose a guy to put his head down and drive into the teeth of the defense with the game on the line, there's no comparison in my opinion. Zion is clearly the better option. RJ has some passing ability, and I appreciate that, but (as @Los216 points out) he goes into hero-ball mode at critical junctures. That's a problem because he's far from an efficient ISO scorer at the college level, let alone at the NBA level.

Yeah he's got really nice size and length if he can shoot well enough play the wing at the NBA level

All 3 guys have their strengths and some pretty big weaknesses.

WEAKNESSES I have noticed thus far...

Zion - His jumper isn't that good. He hasn't really shot many off the dribble jumpers yet. You have to worry about this. Shooting is king in today's NBA. He always drives left. Even when he drives right, he spins back left. His passing/creating has been ok so far at best, but he has shown some flashes there.

Barrett - Inefficient thus far. Jumper looks good, but he isn't hitting it a high clip right now. Free throw percentage also sucks right now.

Reddish - Haven't seen much of an ability to get to the rim and finish. Seems to disappear at times. Maybe this is just because he is really the 3rd or 4th option as a ball-handler on this particular team. I haven't really seen much creating/passing from him at all.

STRENGTHS I have noticed thus far...

Zion - Obviously the athleticism and size is unreal. I have been super impressed with his defense, rebounding and hustle as well.

Barrett - The passing ability is where he sets himself apart from the other two. I can definitely see him being a SF type that ends up averaging 5-6 assists. His ability to get to the rim and create a shot for himself or others is also really good. People comparing him to Wiggins are nuts. Wiggins could never create off the dribble and get to the rim or pass like Barrett. All Wiggins could do is straight-line drives or dribble 1-2 times and pull up for a mid-range J.

Reddish - Love the length. He easily has the best jumper. Shooting looks really smooth and easy for him. He just has the size, length, and shooting ability that is so huge in the NBA today.
