2021 Cleveland Indians Predictions

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I dont know why fans want to platoon Naylor, who throughout his entire pro career has had a slight reverse split.
Because we have to get Luplow's bat into the lineup against LHP's. He absolutely destroys them. If Rosario is in center he's right-handed so you don't play Luplow there. You could platoon Luplow in left with Eddie Rosario but he's a much more proven hitter than Naylor. I don't see anywhere to play Luplow except as a platoon with Naylor in right unless you want to argue that Naylor hits lefties better than Rosario.

The obvious platoon, both offensively and in the field is Luplow/Johnson in right, but that has to wait until first base is resolved. Both Bauers and Bradley are gonna get their shots.

The easiest solution is moving Naylor to 1B vs LHP, but the FO has decided to waste weeks and ABs with Bauers/Chang there. At least remove one of those two (preferably Chang).

These decisions will be much simpler once we determine if and how well Naylor can actually hit in the Major Leagues.

Why Chang when he is our utility guy? Lol I don't mind getting him ABs at the position honestly

I don't think anyone is giving up on Mercado, so to speak. But Daniel Johnson better be ahead of him on the depth cart, along with A.Rosario and even Jordan Luplow.

If Oscar ever wants to be a full time player again, he is going to have to starting hitting the cover off the ball. He is getting buried as I type this.

I agree, but I dont think Mercado's problem is talent or skill. IMO its confidence, which is just as important.

Hopefully the minors helps with that. He needs to focus on the mental side of the game way more than physical.
