A Closer Look at Anthony ^--^ Davis

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

I'm convinced now more than ever that MKG is the guy the Cavaliers want. He has a relantionship with Kyrie, he's training in Cleveland, he's a hard working, unassuming type, and he would generally be a great fit here. That said, here's how I see the Cavaliers' top 5, at this point:

1. Anthony Davis- crazy as it might sound, due to Thompson, they will consider a trade down if they land the top spot.
2. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist- they want this 'kidd' bad.
3. Harrison Barnes- he knows Kyrie and the liked him alot last year; I have a feeling they like him alot more than other teams. (thinking aloud: Gosh, I hope not!)
4. Andre Drummond- the Cavaliers will take a close look at him, although they're wary of having two players who can't shoot free throws on the same front line.
5. Brad Beal- he's undersized, which hurts his stock and puts him behind the others; Eric Gordon type potential has the Cavaliers intrigued.

That's exactly what it sounds like. And Beal was 6'4.5 last time I checked and I think that was a year ago coming out of high school. There's a good chance he grew a little.

Exactly. Although I'd be excited about Kidd-Gilchrist, Beal or maybe even Drummond, I think Davis is the one player in this draft with the potential to be even better than Kyrie Irving. Davis is a superstar, and the Cavs would not pass up the opportunity to draft him.

exactly... I may kidnap Nick Gilbert and take him to Vegas if he lands us the #1 pick... or at least have him pick out some lottery numbers for me!......Davis would make this team so much better

I like the potential of AD and TT front court. Both long, athletic, and mobile big men. Not to mention they are great weak side blockers too. Given that AD has shown the capability of hitting jumpers, the spacing will not be a problem. Only downside is that they lack the bulk to handle the big boys. I'm actually scared that the Bobcats could land AD just because they already have Biyombo. Those two can cause major problem down the road.

Re: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

God if we landed Davis, the rest of the NBA is on notice. Star PG paired with a star PF/C like Davis. I like the sound of that. Prime Garnet type player with prime Chris Paul/Isiah type player (I see more similarities between Kyrie and Isiah than most other players). That's one hell of a core to build around and that's totally discounting whatever we get from Tristan.

I'm giddy, come on Nick!

Don't forget the 500 other picks we have. If we get Davis, things could get ugly REAL quick for the rest of the league. If we somehow got another all-star on top of Kyrie and Davis especially a wing, which is completely possible, then I don't see how we don't win a championship with that group.

OMG...

I want #1 so bad...

I'd do anything for it

I love Davis as much as the next guy... but us getting him won't make things get ugly for the rest of the league. We would be going down a hell of a good path, but in reality, we'd still be 2 years away from possibly contending from a title (and that's if we hit on another pick).

Not trying to be a downer, and I'd be as pumped as anyone if it happened because we'd see some seriously entertaining basketball starting immediately.... but it isn't as if we're going to roll to dynasty status immediately if we get davis.

Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis? Davis is going to put the "nasty" in "dynasty." :chuckles:

Kyrie and Davis both have the potential to be the best players in the league at their positions. If you just add a few solid pieces around them you're pretty much set going forward. Also Tristan is going to develop into a much better player...with his work ethic you never really know what his ceiling is.

Either way it doesn't matter. We will not be winning the lottery for the second year in a row. I'm still trying to grasp the fact that we won it last year. This is still Cleveland we're talking about.

Uh, ain't no one expecting Kyrie and Davis to dominate immediately...

Even if Davis has a phenomenal rookie season we'd still be fighting for the 8th seed...I think everyone understands that.

If we land Davis it's like landing a young garnett to pair with baby Chris Paul. We instantly become play off contenders, and role players will come sign with us.
