A Closer Look at Anthony ^--^ Davis

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Depends on what the Cavs do at the 2 and 3.

You put some mediocre players at the 2 and 3 (Nick Young types) and a team with Irving at the PG and a frontcourt of Davis, TT, AV is going to make noise. Cavs likely would rather take it easy and choose to take pressure off Davis and Irving by trying not to hard to add mediocre pieces just yet. but it's not unheard of at all for teams to get very good right after two top 3 picks in a row (i..e Shaq/Penny, D. Robinson/Eliot).

For shits and giggle, you get Davis and if I'm Dan Gilbert might just give a call to KG and Ray Ray to see if they would be interested in sticking together for another year.

...

Let's see... It got quiet here. I think there's a chance something could develop here that we're missing. If a team wants it bad enough, they can get and still not ruin their future.

Obviously, now that the Hornets won, they're out of the picture. But the Bobcats and Wizards don't necessarily have winning management or even stabilized management like we have. Even if the Bobcats ignore MKG, the Wiz probably take him since their roster is obvious. But that's a good thing. We have the assets and necessary pieces to get MKG from the Wiz. We can absorb any salary, trade any of the future picks (this year or not) as we have a big stash now, and can wait until after our selection to work out a deal. Even better, taking on someone like Lewis means we could just buy him out and have $10 million of cap space freed up in a second after we take the $23 million.

But if the Bobcats take MKG, we can either:
a) Suck it up and take a guy like Barnes with a lower ceiling but has effort as well.
b) Wait until we make a selection and try to work out a deal with our pick and flexibility. We have way more assets. When LeBron tried to ask Ferry to get Paul his friend, Ferry couldn't since he didn't have the assets. I wait until draft day and see what we can do since it's the opposite now.

Don't give up guys. It ain't over til the fat lady sings. At least we don't have someone impulsive like Jordan or mindless like the Wizards.

Well, this thread can be locked up and thrown away.

... Can we lock you with it...? (ahaha, just kidding...)

There are things called developments. I heard they're quite amazing and can turn bottom dwellers into contenders within years. And it's not just lottery teams either. The Celtics traded their #5 for Ray Allen. Then they used assets to get Garnett.

... Wherever we end up, I trust management the whole way, but that's another story. And remember, at this point, you are not a mod. Let them handle that shit.

After the lottery, I received a text on Grant saying something to the extent of, "if we move up, great. If not, that's great, too." I thought it was talking about trading up since it was after the draft and not moving up isn't "great." If the text was talking about trading up, then things aren't over. I don't think NO is going to be as patient as us in rebuilding, so I think we might be able to fork over a package that will make them fork over the 1st overall pick. What about #4 + Varejao + Walton for Okafor + #1? We're giving them the fourth pick, which still has very good value + a borderline all-star player in Varejao + we're saving them money by taking on Okafor. It'll be interesting to see if the Cavs try to trade up because I don't see NO being patient in the rebuilding process kinda like how Portland has said that they have no plans on rebuilding slowly.

I don't know if this has been posted or not.

"A lot of disappointment inside my family," said Anthony. "My mom wanted me to go to to Charlotte. I have a lot of good friends in Charlotte. At the same time, it wasn't my call. A lot of guys are disappointed but they have to move on and make the best out of New Orleans."

Davis: Family wanted me to play for Jordan

I was discussing medical red flags today , and it came into my mind I wonder how anthony davis will check out. The guy hit a 7 inch growth spurt his junior year. So, it's hardly a surprise he remains so silly looking. We've seen Z and Yao succumb to foot injuries after trying to put weight on a frame ill equipped to sustain its mass. I think it'll be interesting to see how new orleans tries to bulk up anthony. John Henson also had a similar huge growth spurt. I think Yao actually had gigantism, along with numerous red flags that go along with it.

If Anthony Davis' frame hasn't developed enough muscle to support his growth spurt nba players will root that out quickly and he could be in for an injury riddled season when he steps into the mans league.

Before weight lifting was in rogue johnny kerr hit an 8 inch growth spurt, and had a long healthy nba career. I wonder how much of a medical risk a giant growth spurt is considered..

Interesting questions to think about. I was watching something on Scottie Pippen earlier today, and they said he had a 7 inch growth spurt between his Freshman and Sophomore year of college. Now, he only went from 6-1 to 6-8, but that's still pretty significant.

My guess is each person's body reacts differently, but I'm not a doctor...

Perhaps new orleans drafts a center, or picks one up in free agency. Right now though it looks like anthony davis is set to get rag dolled his rookie year in a crash course at center.

If I remember correctly, Rodman and David Robinson had ridiculous 4-6 inch growth spurts even older then Davis. He'll be fine. (Not saying he won't get hurt but his growth spurt won't have anything to do with it)
