A closer look at Bradley Beal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
“He’s listed as 6-5, but he’s 6-3,” Blake said in a telephone interview.

From the Morning Journal on 5/27.

If he was actually measured at 6'4.5" over a year ago, how can you even argue that..?

As long as he doesn't have short arms, I'm not worried about his height. He is a 2, no one is going to back him down under the rim. As long as his arms are long enough to contest shots then I want a guy with his stroke.

Who give's a crap about standing height? I don't care how big the guy's head is. I want to know his wingspan, standing reach and vertical jump numbers.

Can you people read? I was quoting a guy. And a measurement last year is not an NBA combine measurement. Get it??

His wingspan is a very average 6'7". Lamb has a 7' wingspan.

Yeah, a taller 2 has never backed down a smaller 2! You're soooo right! Great point!

Isn't there a multi-quote function on here?

Hmmm... Says his height with shoes is 6'3.5"...

...is that from today's combine?

I believe those are from the Deron Williams skills camp. Those have been the ones listed on there for quite some time. Most recent measurements to my knowledge are still the 6'4.5" height, 6'7.5" wingspan from the Hoops Summit, which is an entirely legitimate and official measurement btw.

Edit: Looking through the history of Deron Williams camp measurements they are usually .5-.75 inches short on height compared to what guys have measured out at the combine.

Makes sense. I was thinking that the combine got underway today. Checking the schedule, I guess it is tomorrow and Friday starting at 7 a.m.

There is something to be said for how Beal uses his wingspan. Beal averaged almost two more rebounds per game than Lamb, playing in less minutes per game. He also averaged one additional free throw attempt per game, illustrating his willingness to attack the basket. They were also pretty much neck-and-neck in steals and blocks, with Beal gaining the slightest edge in both categories. I really like Lamb and have all season, but Beal showed himself to be a more well-rounded shooting guard, standing reach be damned.

That rebounding edge is down to toughness. I've thought of a new left wing comparison. A prime michael dickerson.

First of all, learn how to fucking talk/communicate with people. It's a fucking message board for Christ sake. Secondly, as D-Wreck said, it was from the Hoops Summit, not some random measurement taken by a random guy.

And yes, I can read just fine, thank you. Can you? Don't talk down to me because you got your panties in a bunch over stupid shit.

...This is why I love sports and the internet.

I don't think the Cavs are too enamored with Beal; just the feeling i get because of the lack of buzz. Conversely, the buzz has solely been surrounding Barnes and MKG.

This draft is deep in SG prospects, especially with Lamb, Waiters, Rivers, Ross, and even Cunningham and Fournier that can be had after Beal goes off the board. I think Beal struggles to create his own shot and get to the rim. Like Barnes, Beal doesn't have an explosive first step. I hate comps but everyone compares Beal to Eric Gordon but Gordon is quicker and a better slasher. They're both undersized SG's but that's the only main comparison between the two, imo.
