I got this shit recording, 6ers are my 2nd fav team and used to be my 1st before there was a Cavs team back in the Dr. J. days. If Shaq is doing good, maybe I don't even want to turn it on...

Re: Heat Discussion

anyone who has a chance to beat the cheat u got to root for

Re: Heat Discussion

dwest just blocked a shot

Re: Heat Discussion

Man I forgot Boston has Jermaine.

This team is like the movie where Clint Eastwood and the old timers suit up as astronauts for one last time. Slap in Rhondo and they have a nice shot at the title yet again.

Re: Heat Discussion

Havent seen the cheat yet but the c's are stacked

Re: Heat Discussion

So, I just tried to sit down and watch the Miami pre-season game..

I just couldn't do it. 4 minutes in I was seething with anger and had to turn it off before I started throwing random objects at my TV and LeBron hadn't really done anything that great yet.

I might just not be able to watch that team play this year, it's like torture, honestly, if I had top secret government information and was kidnapped by Al Qaeda or something all they would have to do to get me to talk is show me the Miami Heat on a continuous loop.

Yeah I watched it with a few beers in me. I'm going to watch the Heat all season just to see how they are really going to stack up. LeBron got posterized a couple times which made me feel better about myself... even though they won big... It's funny now how I'll remember everything bad that happens to him in games but when he was with us I just remembered his great play.

Wade pulls a hammy, LeBron shot the ball like shit. Really the only thing they showed me was great perimeter D and solid performances. I don't think they could beat Boston or Orlando.

Re: Heat Discussion

Keep on telling yourself that. If Miami ONLY had Wade and Bosh they'd be better than Orlando. The Boston match-up would be close though. Add in Lebron and neither one of those teams can beat the Heat. The only team that has any shot of beating the Heat is the Lakers and I'd be very concerned about Kobe's health if I were a Lakers fan.

Re: Heat Discussion

Damn...one win against the hapless Pistons and according to PIP, the Heat have a lock on the finals. Using that same logic, the Cavs have an even better chance. They actually blew out a playoff team from last year.

The Heat's problem is size. Teams with size win Championship in grind out/playoff style games. Z doesnt count and Bosh does not play in the middle. I dont see these guys getting past the lakers.

Oh I know... I'm the only person on the planet that sees some championship potential in that little squad...

Look, there's two teams with size... Lakers and Celtics... Celtics have old size and the Lakers are the only team that will come out of the west....

It's great that those teams have size and all, but those teams don't have LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on the same team.... The size is great, but the damn Heat can trot out perimeter defensive lineups of Chalmers/Wade/Bron or Wade/Miller/Bron and absolutely suffocate teams....

Heat can't win cause they don't have any size.... They have fucking Bron and Wade in their backcourt, man.... They will be fine..

Since when were Mike Miller or Mario Chalmers suffocating defenders?

Mike Miller has generally been a turnstile and Mario Chalmers was exposed as a defensive fraud last year other than a penchant for gambling and being able to come up with some steals.

The Heat have a great shot at a title, but it's not nearly a forgone conclusion.

Not to mention, no team has won a title in the modern era of the NBA without legitimate size and toughness in the middle, and Chris Bosh doesn't qualify. Even the Jordan/Pippen teams had Ho Grant and Dennis Rodman and Centers better than Joel Anthony patrolling the middle.

Bosh is either going to have to grow a pair or Anthony is going to have to have a breakout season defensively.

My biggest concern about the Lakers is simply health of Bynum and Kobe. If fully healthy, Lakers take the Heat in 7. If not healthy, they'll have a hard time truly exploiting the real weak areas of the Heat. Luckily for Miami, Bynum hasn't been healthy for a playoff run in the last 3 years.

Re: Heat Discussion

You don't need to be great individual defenders when you're flanked by two guys that can cover so much ground....Nor was I suggesting they were the sole reason for it, so don't imply it... Cletics played suffocating defense, but was Ray Allen a real stout defender ? UM NO...

Personally, I think Chalmers will be the real guy to benefit from this... Chalmers, Wade and Bron will be a tough defensive trio IMO....
