Annual RCF Rate My Team/Who to Play Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pending health, I'd probably play Hilton, Hopkins, and Jeffrey.

Yeah that's my tough decision, Hilton over Randle. Randle's targets have been increasing (from 3, to 7, to 10) and is playing against a worse defense, so that is why I chose him. Might change my mind depending on how healthy Hilton is though. PPR league, 1 point/reception.

Randle is the one that I would consider playing the least. Definitely Jeffery and Hopkins. I think I'm siding with Robinson too. He got 10 targets in the 2nd half of last week's game once Bortles took over. You know the Jags will be trailing. Hilton is inconsistent and not likely to have a huge game. I think Robinson gets at least 6/70 yards and maybe a TD. You have no idea who Luck is going to be throwing to either. Yeah Randle had 10 targets last week but big deal. 5 catches for 27 yards. He's only worth it if he's scoring TDs, and I'm not trusting Eli to be throwing multiple TDs. Randle is the most likely to drop a dud of all those guys imo.

Plus half of Eli's throws will either be off target or into the hands of a defender. :chuckle:

Sitting at 0-3 in one of my leagues, I made a trade with another 0-3 team. nonPPR, 12 teamer, 6pt QB TDs

I sent:

Russell Wilson
Chris Johnson
Andre Johnson
Jordan Cameron

I receive:

Andy Dalton
MJD
Ryan Matthews
AJ Green

My team now:

Drew Brees
Andy Dalton
Tannehill

Lamar Miller
Donald Brown
Ryan Matthews
MJD
Fred Jax

Calvin Johnson
AJ Green
Reuben Randle
Allen Robinson
Davante Adams
Doug Baldwin
Josh Gordon

Gronk

Kicker

Defenses

Schedule looks good in theory for me to get back in the mix, but so did the schedule early on.

I think you got hosed on that trade but being 0-3 I understand why you would shake things up

Do you have to play two QBs per week? I assume so, because that's the only way I could justify three.

I don't even like carrying a single back-up, if there's talent out there on the waiver wire.

Nice one guys :chuckle:

Robinson better beat the 16 pts Randle got me on my bench or I'm writing a nasty letter

This is the eternal problem with Eli manning. Some times he plays like Peyton. Sometimes he plays like Blaine Gabbert.

If it makes you feel any better, I dropped Larry Donnell in one of my leagues to pick up Owen Daniels. Kicking myself for that one right about now, but at least Donnell netted me thirty points in my PPR league. Looks like I'm a lock to go 4-0 in that one even without playing a defense this week.

you're about to play a rookie WR on the Jags over Randle? Wow...

Started Donnell. Sometimes not getting locked into these underachieving TE's like Cameron or Rudolph is a good thing, because it makes you work the waiver wire. Outside of Gonzo and Gates in the past and healthy Gronk, Jimmy Graham and now Julius Thomas in the present...TE's suck.

But every year a Julius Thomas will rise up and somebody will nab him on the waiver wire. TE's are pretty unpredictable outside of the ones that have elite QB's throwing to them. And Jimmy Graham, Gronk, Julius and Gonzo are/were proof of that.

There are plenty of FFB studies that prove this is incorrect. TE's production tends to be the most consistent off prior seasons year over year, regardless of being elite or not.

That being said I completely agree with you on the fact that there is always one or two who pop up out of nowhere and go on to produce solid numbers.

Inconsistent probably isn't the word. The better words are probably "crappy compared to receivers of the same positional ranking."

Like the 5-10 receivers production will have a huge spread between them and the 5-10 TE production.

Bottom line for me is just that I really don't value the TE position very much and never draft it high. If I could get Witten in the 8th...great. But I'd much rather have a young WR like Brandin Cooks that dropped to that same range and get my TE late or nab one of waivers.

Most of the leagues I play in are full PPR, if I can get a weekly average of 11pts from my TE in that format then I'll be ok.

I drafted Julius and Gronk a lot this year because I hated most RBs and wanted to build a weekly cushion at TE to make up for a low end RB2 like FJax or Lamar Miller (who hasn't played like an RB2 this season).

if you don't get Graham, Gronk, Thomas, you're better off not even wasting a draft pick on a TE. Year after year, my TE has been a waiver pickup. I'm rolling with Delanie Walker right now and I'm completely okay with it. Have Gates on my bench - picked him up too.

And fuck Vernon Davis btw. He's so streaky.
