If he was 1-2 inches taller he would have been a consensus number 1. I think many of us, myself included, were too hung up on the prototypical size. We have our QB for the next 10-15. Golden era of Browns football begins in 2019.

I definitely was caught up in the measurables thing. I backed Darnold in the end and should have trusted my eyes and been all in on Baker from the jump.

Literally everything on the field said Mayfield was the top guy. He was the most accurate, he was the most productive, he was the best in tight windows, he was the best period.

If he had been Darnold/Rosen's height and weight, it wouldn't have been a discussion. He would have been unanimous.

I’m not sure how much was truly size once he measured out easily over 6’0 and a stout 215-220.

I don’t think it was his talent level, either. Everyone acknowledged his accuracy, zip on the ball, and ability to make plays.

I think his biggest question mark was the system he ran at OU and the fact that he’d have to learn a lot of things from scratch entering the league.

That was the area of unknown. The complete conjecture.

As many had hoped, he’s a sharp dude who has learned many of those things extremely quickly.

Baker is the Prince who was promised.
 
Went to the game. It was a cold November afternoon, wish the stadium was more full but this kid electrified the stadium with his plays. The goal line stop, even when the game seemed in hand set everyone off. Baker has it. Very excited for the next few years and really hope DeFilippo takes the job here and sends Baker into the upper echelon of NFL QBs.

On a side note. I have a Garrett jersey already in orange, but I need to get a Baker jersey. Hate our uniforms right now though. I heard the color rush ones look/feel pretty cheap? Any suggestions? Half waiting on another jersey overhaul lol.

This was my hang up. I didn't trust that he was really going though progressions. I was under the impression that his offense was made up of a lot of misdirection which resulted in him throwing to receivers that were "tricking" the defense. Add to that, him playing for Oklahoma, he was usually playing with superior athletes, I thought he was made to look good by the system. I'm enjoying the crow sandwich I'm eating.

22 games left until in these monstrosities are gone but I doubt what they're working on will be better.

This is what I'm doing. I strongly considered getting a color rush jersey but those will probably be gone with the overhaul.

It was a good week for Baker, but that is an average week for Drew, lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Right now through 9 games, Drew is at 77.3% completion with 21 touchdowns 1 interception and a QBR of 123.8.

That is insane. I know Mahommes is putting up huge numbers, but I think Drew is in the MVP race every bit as much as Mahommes.
