He's 5pts per 100 possessions worse than average on defense last season. It's not great, he's slow and unathletic, but he tries and sometimes does some things. The shooting should outweigh that, but playoffs get interesting

Let's see if jbb can get him to do something, and if the towers can cover for him
 
I'm good with this. He's not Love. He's not a great rebounder. But he's 30% of the cost, proven, and we really needed a stretch 4 to work in with Allen and Mobley.

I think the Heat just used the taxpayer MLE on J. Richardson, which would allow them to take back Cedi, Wade, or both, and basically be in the same position in terms of being hardcapped so long as the transactions are sequenced properly.

I'm a little more wobbly on sending Wade out as well as Cedi just so we can pay Strus $16M per for 4 years.
 
I think Niang is a good pickup. But if he and Struss happen, who moves? I’m assuming at least Cedi & Wade are gone. Is that all? Because we got smaller and slower and worse on d if it’s just 2 in/2 out. That’s a lot for Allen/Mobley to cover on d. We would improve as far as shooting goes, but how much better does this make us? I hope quite a bit, because it’s going to cost a lot more money.

Cleaningtheglass.com has Niang shooting 52% last year on corner 3's, putting him in the 98th percentile among forwards. On non-corner 3's he hit 37%, which was in the 65th percentile.

He'll be hanging out in the corner and punishing teams that try to pack the paint on Garland, Mitchell, and LeVert.

I like our chances of JBB teaching him better defense and covering with shot blockers than JBB teaching a non offensive player how to shoot and play offense.
 
Totally worthless besides shooting the 3.
