Brandon Weeden: GTFO!!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Holy hell I forgot why I hate reading these threads during the season, especially after a loss.

Our offense was shit against a much improved D, our TE was the bright spot, our D was missing a couple key components and we were in the game basically the whole way.

Weeden was hurried on over 1/2 of his dropbacks, that's a little crazy. Our line sucked, our WR cost him 2 picks, and we had no run game.

Not to mention, it's Week 1 of a completely revamped offense that didn't have its only deep threat

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

He's awful. Inaccurate, no pocket presence, low awareness, low football IQ, no mental or physical toughness, not accountable, severely limited physically. He's a complete train wreck with no redeeming NFL QB qualities.

Really? We were actually in the game against the Miami Dolphins at home for most of the game. What a fucking accomplishment! Maybe we should throw a parade?

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Any QB in the upcoming draft would be an upgrade over this guy. Maziel would have led a fucking attack down the field every single time. The likes of which you haven't seen before.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

The "receivers cost him the interceptions" argument is complete BS. There's just no way you can put that ball high, sometimes behind the guy, with that much zip on it and not expect bad things to come from it.

Agreed. I erroneously made this argument in the game thread before I saw the replay of the Cameron INT (and I got raked over the coals for it :chuckles:). No doubt, his receivers did drop some passes, but he was throwing some very difficult to catch, if not completely uncatchable balls out there. I don't care how good of a receiver you are, it's not often you're going to catch a bullet that's high and behind you.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I wish the Tank for Teddy movement was realistic, but who are some of you trying to kid.... This is the Cleveland Browns. We will win 5-6 games and draft another average starter (best case) and continue to win 6 games every year.

PLEEEEASE TANK ONE FUCKING YEAR AND HANDLE THE QB SITUATION ALREADY :(

Don't know why they're so against it. The Colts did it for one year and walked away with a stud, Pro Bowl QB in Andrew Luck and were right back in the playoffs the following year.

The Redskins sold the farm for RGIII, a stud, Pro Bowl QB who helped them end a playoff drought. Looks like that gamble is paying off.

Either tank or give up what you need to in order to get the guy you want. The Browns remind me of a team like the Bucks in the NBA -- always on the treadmill of suckitude, never good enough to do anything special but never shitty enough to get the guy that they want/need to get in order to finally get over the hump.

I have been saying that this is the reason we suck for years. We always manage to win just enough games to miss out on the top-level game changers in the draft. It is sickening if you go back and look at the guys we could have drafted had we lost 1-2 more games each season. Absolutely sickening.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

If they truly want to tank, then leave Cousins on that offensive line. Man oh man... watching him play today brought back fuzzy memories of the days when Tim Couch would get his head taken off in just about every single game because of the revolving door that was the offensive line.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Totally agree with tanking. I think this team might actually be bad enough to lose enough for a top 3 pick. In the game thread someone is pissed about not signing FAs to help this team. No amount of FAs would turn this shitty team into a winner. I'm hoping the front office saw that and instead of paying for minor upgrades and going 6-10, decided to just finally go for that top pick.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

See, although their offense is bad, I don't know that they're going to be bad enough to lose their way into a top 3 selection. You've gotta figure that they'll only get better once Pinkston/Lavouo/Gordon come back, and their defense is actually pretty decent (although they have holes in the secondary that need to be addressed).

I see this team winning 6, maybe even 7 games this year if they play way over their heads, and missing out on Bridgewater and Boyd.

I can't imagine how excited you must be at the possibility of another 3-4 win season.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I would say that these are NFL receivers, if it hits their hands they should catch it... but the ball was ricocheting off their hands. It's like Weeden was trying to out-throw Favre. It's nearing the shit shit DA used to do when there was absolutely no touch on anything.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I may not survive another 3-4 win season. Seriously, I may have to start working Sundays and get Saturdays off. But...it may be what is best for the team going forward IF (big IF) the Browns truly believe a stud QB exists in this draft.

Is Teddy Bridgewater the guy that can come in and be a total stud and lead this team going forward? Because that is what the Browns need. A total stud under center. Almost every playoff team has a star caliber quarterback, each year. We cannot get by with the Brandon Weedens and Colt McCoys of the world. If Teddy is that guy, go for it. Lose every fucking game to ensure you get him. I'm seriously that desperate.
