Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

Weeden to TB for Freeman, who says no?

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

How is Florida not the perfect place for Weeden?

Warm weather, tons of new friends, community.

You forgot lots of recently single pool babes.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I'll admit, he looked a lot better than last game. And yes, his receivers really didn't help him out much. But that said, I'm still 100% confident he's not the guy. We still scored ZERO offensive touchdowns. Not all on him, but at the end of the day that's pretty freaking sad. He still did typical Weeden stuff. Does he not know how to read a play clock? That last delay of game changed the outcome of the game, before his injury or whatever the hell happen.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

So he didn't throw an interception; he's got that going for him.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

He looked about what I expect from him.

His WR'ers get no separation and he isn't a guy who can make the elite throw. So...yeah, it's going to look like this until Gordon comes back.

He'll look okay the rest of the season, but it's pretty clear to me, the guy is a backup. Which would be great if he were a 2nd rounder. But he's not, so it's just another bust.

The guy clearly isn't worth a 2nd rounder. You couldn't get a 5th for the guy.

no offense but its comments like this that make me question if you actually watched the game. weeden may not have set the world on fire, but on any other team, he played well enough to win. he went something like 25 of 36 for 225 yards and no interceptions. had he not been pressure all day or suffered 4 drops he would have done even better.

I would trade Weeden for McCoy today.

I kid, I kid.

It was an all around mediocre to mediocre performance from Weeden but at least we were treated to replays which show Weeds staring down receivers on plays where he had multiple other options.

I will give him some benefit of the doubt due to his port a john worthy receiving core.

The Ravens are absolutely horrible on offense since they gave up both of their stud receivers and this game proved it. We still lost.

We. Are. Horrible.

No other way around it.

5 wins. Being generous.

I hope not, part of the whole problem with the Browns is when they suck they don't suck enough. 2-3 wins would be perfect to get a real QB this year though I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to get Teddy away from Jacksonville

You don't need to question whether or not he watched the game, he doesn't.

With that said, Weeden was pretty below average to bad despite the dumpoffs which gave him a relatively mediocre day statistically.

Yes, he gets pressure. They're going to continue to pressure him because he can't handle a blitz, not to say the offensive line couldn't stand to improve (right side especially). QBs are going to get pressured, good ones handle it better than Weeden.

No, he did not have four drops. There were a few which you just passed off as drops or the receivers fault without noticing the pass being tipped or knocked away. He had a couple drops, most notably the one to Little which resulted in a 10-12 yard catch and no YAC.

The "it's not your fault" schtick is getting a bit tiresome. He was horrendous today, there's simply no other way to put it.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

I really don't care what his passing numbers were. When there were chances to execute big plays, he couldn't. We scored zero offensive touchdowns today. That's not okay, that's pretty awful. AZ, he wasn't horrendous for Weeden, but he wasn't good enough either. He's just not good. For Weeden's terms, it was a good game sadly. For an NFL caliber QB he was still bad. But what are we judging on?

I'll agree the receivers aren't exactly lighting it up, I'll say that much, but the QB is still really bad, and I'd find it nearly impossible to move forward with him as our QB.

Re: The Brandon Weeden Thread

browns have one good play then 3 bad ones. no playmakers on offense. TR is no LT by a LONG SHOT. Weeden is not the long term answer. I'm not even sure he 's the short term answer. He stinks.

Once Buster Skrine is out the door, this is going to be an elite defense. Love the pressure we were getting on Flacco, and we completely shut down one of the best running backs in Rice. I love what the defense did. Still a little thin in the secondary, but that front 7 is looking really good.
