Brendan Haywood's Trade Exception

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looks like Brooklyn wants to unload Joe Johnson for cap relief. Any interest at all?

No it is not . He makes 25 million. The level of knowledge of the general board was been horrific.

Bledsoe is well above the line of talent we can get with Haywood. With our lack of assets, we basically are only getting straight up salary dumps. We could be part of a trade for Bledsoe, but we aren't getting him in return. Could still be lucrative for us though, if that is the direction.

Edit: Johnson makes way too much. We would need to send out Haywood, Miller, and Mozzy, and i'm not even sure that is enough salary. If BKN is looking to blow it up though, we could certainly help provide them with cap relief.

The only way they learn is if you tell them. You're doing the "basketball gods" work.

Suns just signed Knight to a 5 year, 70 million dollar contract.

So they now have 127 million allotted to Bledsoe and Knight (both PG's), which is completely insane.

I have no idea what the market is for Bledsoe but I think it is certainly softer than it was 12 months ago. A salary dump plus some bit assets isn't out of the realm of possibilities if Phoenix finds a free agent they really like.

With that said, he's not a great fit on our roster, given he can't play the 2, he's not a floor spacer and we already have an All-Star PG.

We're better off finding a less talented player who's a better fit IMO.

But we could afford half of Joe Johnson. Half of Johnson would still be a pretty good shooter.

We are about to have over 100 mill tied up to backup pf in tt and andy, lets be careful who we call insane. Both players are worth their contracts especially Bedlsoe when healthy. They will adjust their roster I am sure.

Sorry but give me Andy and TT all day at 30 million less than Knight and Bledsoe.

They have 130 million tied up in two PG's who can't shoot or defend. I stand by them being insane.

Only reason its less is because Andy is only signed for 3 more years. And Knight can shoot, shot 39% from 3 last year while taking 5 a game.

I get what you are trying to say, but Bledsoe is most likely going to be traded, they have a weird roster right now, but a GM first needs to maximize their assets, then lock those assets up, then they balance the roster out.

Its a process.

Well Pheonix is notoriously a cheap team. All you have to do is look at thier history to see that. Just to name a couple Amare, and Joe Johnson.

I'm not doubting that they might want to get rid of Bledsoe, 130 million for two players that play the same position, is never a good plan imo.

Maybe a potential 3 way with NOP if they have a shot at Gasol/Aldridge/Lopez.

Phx gets Anderson, Miller
CLE gets Bledsoe, Pondexter
NOP gets Haywood

It's all I have that could net us a player of that caliber for Haywood.

Basically we would have to have a scenario where Bledsoe wants to be here, and is willing to push for it, and NOP would have to be in line to get a star to shed the salary. It could work out well for PHX, if Miller retires. Save them some money to make a run at their own FA, get a solid floor spreader.

For us it would be obvious, but honestly Pondexter is a pretty good get on his own. Can play the 3, spreads the floor, decent defender.

Still can't see that happening though, just too much talent coming back lol.

Well then look at it like we're about to have bw 220-230 million tied up in Andy/TT/Love. With Mozgov due for an extension next year.

Bledose is not a great one on one defender but his steals and blocks help even things out.

Suns also have the Morris brothers very affordable long term deals, plus Len, TJ Warren, and now Bokker on their rookie deals.

They absolutely do not need to trade Bledsoe unless the want to upgrade their talent at another position. But they don't need to dump salary, especially with the rising salary cap.

Those will be reasonable contracts after next year. You have to remember that the salary cap is going to skyrocket.
