Browns 2015 Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Grossi quoted Farmer's statement given in the original article. Not a big deal.

Except he's a "journalist" and he didn't bother to check the date and time on the article he quoted. I think its safe to say we already knew Tony Grossi isn't big on fact checking though. :chuckle:

The article is dated for yesterday, August 10, 2015 link It's now been edited to clarify it was originally from 2014.

I agree with you though that reporters should do a better job vetting their stuff before publishing it.

Except it is a big deal. He clearly is passing off the notion that he received comment from Farmer on this issue on August 10th, 2015 when it's pretty clear he did not.

Doesn't matter if the shit article had a new date of "August 10, 2015". As a "journalist" he should of read the whole article before tweeting or posting anything and saw:

This is just the latest in a string of off-field issues for the talented wide receiver, who led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards last year despite missing two games while serving a drug-related suspension.

Talking about our dude TG

Very unprofessional. I gotta wonder if he pulled that quote from the article the random newspaper tweeted out, or if he actually sought out a statement. Either way, terrible. The mistake in not reading the article's content or checking with Farmer before posting shows how Grossi is behind the times.

How does a computer "automatically" retweet a tweet like that? Out of all the tweets they have tweeted, it retweeted that? I don't buy that excuse.

That's unreal.

If I'm the Browns, and that actually is false, I'd demand Grossi be fired.

Agreed. That's such obvious bullshit haha. I actually ALMOST have a hard time believing he'd do that... almost.

He "clearly" quoted Farmer's statement directly from the article. Not a big deal.

Adam Schefter publishing medical records? That's a big deal.

This was my thought, too. Was it lazy as hell of Grossi? Of course. But when it was first reported, it looked like he totally made it up, and that would have been bad. As it is, just another reason to ignore his tweets.

This guy would have been declared a bust if the Browns drafted him (as many wanted)...

You mean teams with terrible track records aren't given the benefit of the doubt?

What an outrage.

It's about the people. If Dwight Clark or Mike Holmgren were making the picks, your statement would have some credibility here.
