Browns 2015 Offseason Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In a 16 game season predict by when the following is most likely to happen?

* The crowd starts chanting our backup QB's name
--> 1st home game. All it takes is 1-3 bad series in a row and there will be people chanting for Manziel.

* Our Starting QB gets injured
-->Our STARTING? Don't think he will.

* We identify a diamond in the rough in our squad
-->Game 1-3. And it's gonna either be Mingo showing pass rush skills or Gilbert showing he can be our Cribbs 2.0..I don't really count PoopDick in this category. And I guess you could throw TP in here.

* We start calling for our coach/GMs head
--> Mid-way after our easy beginning schedule then we go on a 3-4 game losing streak.

* We start rooting for the team to lose so that we get the top draft pick
--> I think we have a legit shot at starting the season 4-1. Just relying on our D and a couple bright spots by McCown and whatever WR wears the gorilla glue gloves that day w/Crowell or Poopy having a couple great games. Then it's all downhill from there. I don't think we technically will be out of it until later in the season. So I will say after week 13. We will lose a game to the 49ers, which we SHOULD win. And we would have to win out and get real lucky to make the playoffs. So we will just hope they lose all 3 to get a better draft pick.

...And I hope that bothers some person that I used 5 different shades of blue to answer.

McCown is a guy who can get us to 8-8 as long as the line holds up and the running game is above average. Anything less than that and we are staring at another 4-5 win year.

This.

People predicting us to win 2 games I feel don't know anything about football.

I'm not exactly saying we're going to be good by any means. But the division sucks. There's not a team I feel that is by far superior to anyone else. Maybe the Ravens can have that breakout, but I don't really see it. They're getting older on the defensive side of the ball. They lost some pieces. Offensively, I don't know if they're ready to take that next step like a GB kind of team. Not sure Flacco is that good.

The Steelers are virtually rebuilding on defense. The Bengals still have Andy Dalton who plays like he's related to Brandon Weeden.

We will probably finish last, like usual, but I'm not convinced we will. The division is too up in the air.

I could see us winning anywhere from 5-8 games. I think 8 games could be good enough to win the division. I don't think it's going to happen. For us to win 8. McCown will have to be steady and not a turnover machine. Our running game will have to be top-5 in the league.

Realistically I think we're a 6 win team. I think the offense is going to be really bad.

By week 8 I fear Johnny could play. If that happens, then the season fell apart.

Bold prediction I'm making. The Browns will beat Peyton Manning and the Broncos when they come to Cleveland October 18th.

That will be the Browns surprise victory of the year. I don't think Peyton's offense this year is going to be that dynamic. They got a vulnerable line.

* The crowd starts chanting our backup QB's name
First home game.

* Our Starting QB gets injured
Wild guess of week 11

* We identify a diamond in the rough in our squad
Game 2. Pryor will get forced in there somewhere.

* We start calling for our coach/GMs head
Coach: after first two losses, if they aren't already.
Farmer: don't see it happening, can always use the 'Pettine wasn't his guy' card.

* We start rooting for the team to lose so that we get the top draft pick
Depends on OSU's record as much as the Browns- basically, where fans think Cardale Jones will go in the draft determines what pick we will need. @AZ subsequently calls for no. 1 overall beginning now.

Already Happening

Game 3

Game 4

* We start calling for our coach/GMs head
I predict game 6

* We start rooting for the team to lose so that we get the top draft pick
Week 2

Game 4

Week 2

Hell, that's already happening. People already want to tank for an Ohio State player. Nothing new. Typical shit.

The questions themselves are typical.

Browns fans classic loser mentality shining through.

Right.....because what has happened since 99 gives us any reason to be otherwise excited.

Congratulations.

I don't know, but here you are following their every move on a message board.

Why don't you tell me?

Keep imagining that big ole piece of poo is a diamond and it might actually turn into it!

Last year three out of the four AFC North teams made the playoffs. I think the NFC West was the toughest division in football last year, but they only sent two into the playoffs. There were no easy wins against AFC North opponents until it became clear the Browns run defense and weak center can be exploited. Until some of these teams that are supposedly improved *on paper* prove that they can win on Sundays, I'll still call the AFC North a damn tough division.
