Browns Free Agency 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How many millions of dollars will it take for Alex Mack to restructure his contract so that he commits to the Browns for the next three years? If he would take an additional bonus between $5-10M, I would be in favor of that.

I would like to see the Browns be proactive in trying to get Mack to stay beyond this year.

If he is receptive, then get a deal done.

If he is dismissive of a good faith offer, while rehabbing from a major injury, then he probably isn't planning on sticking around after next season. Then center becomes a much higher priority in the draft.

He already is signed long term.

Josh McCown is a Cleveland Brown.

Excellent move; adds the stability we need to the position. Now we can focus elsewhere in the draft.

Alex Mack can choose to be a free agent after this season.

I am proposing that the Browns should try to stop him from potentially leaving with a small portion of the 50 million in cap space.

I don't see a downside in trying to get Mack to commit to staying in Cleveland by buying out the "player option" in his contract.

Lots of FA options at WR. Hoping this allows us to potentially go big on defense on our first two picks.

Johnson and/or Hartline would be great. Maybe pick up a guy like Hardy around round 3 or 4 would be a huge upgrade to our receiving corps.

4/11/2014: Signed a five-year, $42 million contract. The deal contains $26 million guaranteed. 2015: $8 million, 2016: $8 million (Player Option), 2017-2018: $8 million (+ $2 million roster bonus), 2019: Free Agent
So Mack played 2014 for free? Edit: I see they didn't list 2014 for some reason.

Mack can elect for FA after next year, though. Considering the odds of having a new HC are pretty good- Left one doesn't get along with his GM and as of now has a starting QB battle of Josh McCown and Johnny Manziel- he could see it as a prime opportunity to bail. Then again he may never be the same after the injury and just try and collect. Going to be interesting to watch.

Keepin' an eye on that Cobb tag...which sadly would only be step 1 of many. Would have to outbid a handful of teams..

I'd be happy if the Browns signed some good young vets in free agency that play on offense. WR, TE, and RT. It'll all be improvements.

I'm on board for drafting all defense. Add young premier talent to our teams strength. Give me some freaks up front back to back to back. We got the DBs that will do their jobs at a high level. They will be better than ever with a scary front.
