Browns Free Agency 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hartline would look real good in a Browns uniform. Then as was said above take a #1 WR with the #12 pick.

Kind of expected.

I would just HATE for the Browns to throw 9-10.5mil/year on him for 5 years and try and use him as the #1 wideout. If that happens, guarantee you see him putting up like Percy Harvin numbers from last year.

Unless they think Parker (most likely option at 12) is going to be a monster, scares me to go with him as the #1. He is not going to put up those numbers on the Browns/Raiders/Jags as the primary receiver. There is no Jordy on any of those teams.

Best thing for him to do is to stay with the Packers.

Let's shoot for Cecil/Hartline and the draft.

Don't get they Hughes hype. He wouldn't come here and be awarded the same benefits of rushing opposite of Mario.

No, but being opposite of a Kruger would be just fine for him to still be a very effective pass rusher.

And for the large part, Hughes beat double teams and chip blocks too.

Williams 10.8 PRP (Pass Rush Productivity) is good, but Kruger isn't too far behind with a 9.1. Mingo had a 9.5 in less snaps.

They're all going to get after it here, would be a great add.

Yup. Agree with b00b. It's been made pretty clear that the Browns will rotate the front-7 quite often to keep fresh bodies out there.

Hughes would be a solid add; however, I'm sure he won't be the only new LB. Watch the market for DL/LB because I don't think the Browns are going to break the bank to bring in multiple high-profile FAs. The more saturated the market, the more value they'll be able to find there.

What kind of number is Jeremy Maclin looking at?

But it's not just Mario. It's Marcell Dareus. It's Kyle Williams. He's a quality player, sure. But what's he looking at? 8-10 mil? Could you justify that if we didn't have 50mil in cap?

For $8-10 million? You bet I could.

It's all mutually beneficial in Buffalo, Williams is helped out by Hughes and vice versa. He'll have other guys in Cleveland who can get after it, especially if Taylor and Bryant are healthy and they add another top pick on the DL.

Yeah if the Browns added Hughes it wouldn't stop there. I'm sure they're looking at adding to the DE and NT spots through the draft/fa/trade. Our dline has some depth too, I really liked what I saw out of Armonty Bryant before he got injured. Him, Hughes (who might be a decent guy to develop as a nt), Winn and Taylor are a pretty good start to the line, that's not including Des Bryant either.

I wonder if the Browns would be interested in signing a NT (like Dan Williams of Arizona for instance) rather than drafting one? If they did fill out that role through free agency then I wonder if they would look at someone like Arik Armstead with 19 to be add the the DE's we have.

Either way, we can take our defense to an elite level if we add just a piece or two.

Yeah, Hartline is a good add.

You're not going to find dynamic playmakers in free agency. Hartline brings another reliable threat to the offense and they'd be lucky to get him.

Just because you need a dynamic "jump ball guy" doesn't mean you pass on good adds when you can get them.

The team has many needs.

Would you prefer signing him over another local product in Cecil Shorts though?

Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 yrs $40mil. Huge Browns fan here, but when they left I became an Eagles fan as well. Still keep tabs on them and that's what I am seeing for what Maclin will be getting.

I can't imagine a scenario where Maclin gets $10/yr.

Would feel incredibly sorry for that team.
