Statute of limitation only applies to initiating proceedings. They already did that by pressing charges. The problem is that he didn't show up for his court date, which is why there was a bench warrant issued for his arrest. If you could get out of a crime by skipping a court date and waiting through the statute of limitations, then everyone would be doing it and the criminal justice system would fall apart. At least thats been my understanding from my first year criminal law course. Take it as you will.

It doesn't matter anyways because they couldn't try him now because he completed the offense as a juvenile and would have faced charges in a juvenile court. Now that he is an adult he cannot be tried in a juvie court. Though it does seem that he should face some sort of failure to appear charges. All in all, it wont affect the game Saturday and the Buckeyes will still win.

I haven't seen any links to an actual story, just saying that original claim is impossible.

Its phonetic. Its an army thing. Nothing to do with any college. Im a Buckeye fan through and through. Like how they used to refer to the enemy in vietnam as charlie. V is victor in the phonetic alphabet and C is Charlie. thats why they called the Viet Cong Charlie. similar concept.
