If guys like LMA and Love are worth 20 mil, TT would probably be worth 10-12......right?

In normal situations yes. I still dont know why we dont wait for another team to make an offer for TT.

FFS Tristan Thompson is a restricted free agent. Why do we have to overpay him? Let someone else sign him to an offer sheet and match later.

I suppose the Lebron angle might have some influence, but the other issue is if we sign him a qualifying offer he can just sign it, play one year, and become an unrestricted free agent. That means we'd likely lose him altogether.

As stupid as it sounds for things to work out that way, If that does end up happening wont it mean that we now have a major cap opening where we can pursue other free agents - esp now that free agents are considering Cleveland as a place to go and challenge for the rings?

LeBron preaches leadership. Where is the leadership here? The Cavs are offering TT more money than any team in their right mind would offer him and Lebron doesn't think that is good enough? This should be a lesson to Cavs to never hire a Rich Paul player ever again.

Dare LeBron to leave again.

I hope that's sarcasm. Because this entire franchise's success in the last 20 years, is thanks to him.

Like someone else said, just think of it as paying LB what he's really worth, than Tristan Thompson.

This is the admission of having LeBron James on your team. He will hold your franchise hostage, he will 95% of the time dictate things how they should go.

It's the price you pay having him here. It sometimes sucks, but its worth it, because at the end of the day, things go well with him on our team.

Some cases, like firing Blatt is where I applaud the organization standing ground. But in cases like this, where Tristan is under Rich Paul, basically LeBron James, just make them happy and we'll all be happy.

I understand paying Tristan 80-90 million is absurd, but it beats the alternative of having a pissy/pouty LeBron on our hands.

After it was all said and done, I'm not sure we'd really have any cap space. We'd still have Love, Kyrie, Lebron, etc. under contract and I'd bet we'd still be well over the cap. Thats sort of the problem, paying Tristan only affects Dan's wallet, so Lebron is just trying to get his guy paid.

Ack!

Because it is entirely possible that no other team will make a significant offer to him because they know we'd match.

At that point, he could decide to play just for the one year QO, which means he'd be a UFA next year in what is likely to be the biggest overpay summer in NBA history.

At least address that possibility instead of parroting the "why can't we just wait for someone to offer him a deal and just match" argument. The issue is not that simple.

Or a lesson to other players to hire Rich Paul. ^^
The more rich paul makes, the more LeBron makes. LeBron made rich paul and im sure he gets some kick backs from that.

Nononononononononononononono.

I feel like crying

What makes people think Windy knows what Lebron is or isn't doing again?

Aren't we just days removed from him telling us Love and Lebron weren't talking about free agency at their pool party rendezvous in LA (a meeting he apparently wasn't even aware of until it was all over twitter)?

Lebron may or may not be talking to people, but I sure as hell won't take Windhorst's word for it.
