If we use the taxpayer MLE on West, I would then turn Haywood into a TPE (assuming we re-sign JR). By January, there will be multiple, useful backup PGs that we could trade for with the TPE. There will not be another big as good as David West.

If it takes the taxpayer MLE to sign West, you do it and don't think twice. You definitely don't eschew West to use it on a backup at the deepest position in the league.

I love Andy and all, but I don't think he'll be much more than Perkins was this year.

If West was willing to take what we can offer, you do it and trot out the deepest big rotation in the league.

Love, Moz, Tristan, West... Profit.

Frank Kaminsky is crushing it in the SL right now.
7-14 shooting with 4 threes, plus 10 rebs, 2 steals.

He started 1-for-7, and now he is in a groove.

Said it on draft day, I love the pick by Charlotte. They need more pieces of course, but Frank is gonna be a good NBA player.

Yeah he was a shell in the first half. Was already ready to shit on him haha.
He's moving really well for such a tall dude.

normally i would agree with you. but there might very well be 20-25 teams with Max. cap room next year (because of the cap rise). Draymond gets 16.4Mio/yr (5yrs/82Mio), i could easily see a desperate team jumping in and offer TT more than that (per year) and he's not gonna be a restricted free agent after accepting the QO (so the Cavs won't be able to sit back and match any offer).

Let them. If someone is dumb enough to pay him that amount of money, let them be dumb. Better them than us.

I suppose the Lebron angle might have some influence, but the other issue is if we sign him a qualifying offer he can just sign it, play one year, and become an unrestricted free agent. That means we'd likely lose him altogether.

And? You can't pay everyone. Let him go. He's not a starter and won't be for his entire contract. Give Mozgov the money.

I love how he can knock down the three, as well. I think he has a lot of Kevin Love in him. He needs to be a more consistent shooter, but he has a chance to be a very good player.

Also, what's the Cavs' schedule for the summer league? Feeling lazy right now to look it up.

We start against GSW on July 10th, then BKN and MIL.

Wow, Kobe will take his manhood the first game Hibbert goes 4 points and 1 rebound.

Just pointing out the decision they're faced with. They may believe he is an integral part of the team and pay him. If the internal argument is $80mil vs $90mil then they're paying him big time money either way.
