Big difference in being the #2 scoring option on a team that lacked playmakers beyond Mo and LeBron vs. being a 12-18 minute per game guy with guys like LeBron, Kyrie, Love, Moz, JR etc.

Just what exactly are we thinking we can get in todays NBA for 3 million per year?

I agree there is a big difference between being the second option and being the sixth option, but (if given the choice) I would certainly rather have someone who has shown an ability to play well in high-pressure situations (Ray Allen?).

Those stupid Cavs Nation and random Twitter accounts are suggesting that we've offered Haywood and our 1st round pick to LA for Nick Young...

Swaggy P???

JR could be the "big brother/mentor" to Swaggy.

Seriously, though, good luck to the Lakers finding a team to take on that guy.

Can we at least see the return of Fake Woj? I'll never forget when The Bullshit Whisperer retweeted it once.
First of all, that trade sounds stupid and made up (it sounds like you agree).

Second of all, I don't even think it's technically possible. I'm pretty sure a trade involving Haywood's salary needs to be within 25% of what he's making ($10.5M, i.e. incoming salary needs to be between ~$7.5M and $13M). Swaggy is only making $5M.

Those percentages would've bested just about every Cavs guard or wing in the Finals.

I think it's important to not think of Mo as the addition to the team we watched in the Finals.

He's not coming in to get us over the hump. Getting us over the hump is the return of Love, Kryie, Andy AND the addition of talent/depth like Mo, the draft pick and whatever else we get.
And he's capable of being a scorer at the PG position.

Now....if Jordan Hill is involved......maybe we could discuss....

I love Mo but his playoff numbers are abysmal.

I'd take him at the vet min but I think there are better options out there for another PG.

Just look at his stats with Portland, as the most recent foray in to the playoffs:

8 games - 23 minutes, 11 FGA, 37.3% FG, 24% 3PT, 7.4 PPG, 1.9 AST, 1.8 TO

This is the key point. Of course Mo Williams has his faults. If he didn't, he wouldn't be in the "role player Cavs could possibly sign" discussion in the first place.

I mean, some of the names people have been tossing out this offseason are great, but many of them are going to sign for like double, triple, or even quadruple of what we're able to offer with salary cap limitations.

The Lakers have more than enough cap space, so the trade doesn't have to balance on their end. That being said, there's no way it happens.

By the way, let me add that I love the idea of bringing in Mo Williams. He seems like a great fit:
- history with LeBron/Cavs
- legitimate backup point guard (important with Kyrie's fragility)
- allegedly expressed interest in coming here
- recent salaries indicate that he's in our price range
- still a decent player (+ killed it from 3-point range alongside LeBron)
- shares the same name as that chick from Nickelodeon Guts (d-d-d-do you have it? GUTS!)

Okay, thanks for clarifying that. I thought it applied to both teams.

Let's hope we bring back Maple the Cavalier Girl (the one in the center that looks like Mo Williams) as well.

I've read in a few threads now how we don't need more big man depth because of Varejao.

At this point in his career we just can't rely on Varejao lasting to the playoffs.

26, 65, 25, 25, 31

The amount of games Andy has played in the last 5 years. He will be a 33 year old center who plays with reckless abandonment on every play. It is hard not to love that motor, but it is why he is always in a suit. We really shouldn't be throwing Andy's name around like we can actually count on him as depth in the playoffs.

I like Andy, but holy hell was extending him all kinds of stupid. I would not mind getting a reliable fourth big who is a little better than Perk (aka not a corpse)

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, I thought the purpose of the game was to win, instead of trips down memory lane. Mo Williams is atrocious in the playoffs, must he have another terrible performance in a Cavs uniform to realize this guy is not the answer? Vet min is all I'd take for him.
