Why would anyone grade this as funny? The guy was drafted back in 2008 and has spent more time in the past 3 years in the D-League than the NBA. Despite being a solid 3 point shooter for a few months he shot a combined 35% from the field in his whopping 24 games last year.

@MirORich is absolutely correct... give the guy an unguaranteed contract to come to camp if anything, but to fully commit to him on a guaranteed contract... Why?! And no, he's not an upgrade over Richard Jefferson, even at 35 years old.
I just figured he thought it was funny I called him by his former name(Bill Walker)

I sometime forget it's the same dude. I remember first hearing of him when all the crazy OJ Mayo recruiting circus was going on and from his time at KSU.

I still think we pursue a big that can shoot, likely via the large TPE. Channing Frye would seem to be the guy to keep an eye on. Orlando has a number of bigs, and if Aaron Gordon comes out and plays well Frye will be expendable.

I'm fairly certain Frye and his terrible contract have been available this whole time. You have to remember how the luxury tax works. They either take on a big salary that is 2 years or shorter and protect themselves from the repeaters tax, or they trade for a player who is worth the heavy-handed repeaters tax.

Well that would make more sense then haha.

Yeah, I completely forgot that was Bill Walker at first too. HS star that never realized his potential. Plus, a couple serious injuries.

Only two years left on that Jason Thompson contract, I feel like he has been on the trade block for Sacramento as soon as he signed it. It will be fun to see if he can help a team that isn't dysfunctional. I've never liked his game as a pro.

Not that I'm clammoring to get Miller back, but I still don't understand why they made this a rule in the current CBA. The receiving team still has the right to decide to buyout the player, 28 other teams still have the right to make offers to said player as a free agent, and the player can still choose where he wants sign from the available offers. As long as this all works under salary cap rules...if the player wants to sign with the team that originally traded him, then what's the big deal? There's no injustice, no one's getting screwed here and this can be done without collusion.
I honestly think it's in the spirit of the game and fairness. If you trade a guy you shouldn't be able to get him back next month.

Now imo salary dumps and then not making another deal to get better aren't in the spirit of the game either. If you do a salary dump over 12 mil and don't actively pursue free agents I personally think that should be a fine but whatever

The Nuggets will waive Kostas Papanikolaou.

His contract isn't guaranteed, so this move isn't a surprise. Papanikolaou was sent to the Nuggets in the Ty Lawson trade and now he'll have to look to join another team. He will have a tough time making any team beyond training camp.

And people here were saying he's a prospect before. Morey got Lawson for scraps and manage to get Lawson to make last year a TO. Have to say, he's the second best GM behind RC Buford.

He made them a title contender in the West without being able to tank.

Hmmm this is exactly the type of youngin cavs should try to grab. He will probably end up on 76ers because they have money to spend.

Any thoughts on Kostas Papanikolaou?

We should def try to get him but will probably b outbid

Why would we want him?

Just because he is 25 and plays sf doesn't mean he is any good. He shot 35/29. Don't see a bidding war nor a fit for our team.

How come he's not a good fit? From what I've seen he could contribute to our team. He did play for a playoff Rockets team so I know he has experience.

I think we should go after him...Young, athletic and seemed to be a decent shooter in Houston's system. Plus we could bid high with our trade exception.
