Here's the thing about KP...he'd provide young, fresh legs and fill in some athleticism to spare LeBron 10 minutes a game. We wouldn't need him to score. We've got more scorers than Houston does, especially now with Mo. Leave him out there with Kyrie and Love and we'd probably be fine.
We don't need to set the world on fire with LeBron's backup. I had talked about Wilson Chandler or Gallinari but when reality sets in you don't get someone young and with promise to come here to a stacked team to play 10 MPG. You either get old vets or cheap, flawed young guys. The key is fit, and KP can fill in with some much needed athleticism. He can defend adequately and isn't a guy you can get away with not guarding at all. He'd be a better 5th option on offense than Sir Dom. And if KP doesn't work out, let him go and bring up Sir Dom after a D-League stint where he works on his shot.
We have assets to make a move here, it's worth taking a flier on him.
