Cavaliers supposedly monitoring Zach Randolph

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here we go again. I'd still be shocked if the Cavs had major interest in Randolph. His past has been well chronicled and his contract would eat up a ton of possible cap room in 2010.

If this story came from the local media I'd buy it more. Since it's coming from the NY sports media I have to question it's validity.

I would much, MUCH rather have an over-the-hill Ben Wallace than Zach Randolph and David Lee. I don't think people understand just exactly how much of a cancer Zach Randolph is. The Blazers traded him and won, what, 20 more games? That should not be shocking to any of us.

I rather bring back Larry Hughes than Zach Randolph

I would rather get punched in the nads, than trade for Zach Randolph :chuckles:

I rather bring Jose Mesa in to save the 9th inning, than trase for Zach Randolph. :king:

I would rather start Bew Wallace at point guard than trade for Zach Randalph....ok maybe that one is to far, lol

Even if Randolph was available for us im not sure if mike brown would want him. IMO the last thing he wants is his PF trying to take players off the dribble ala Andy and shooting 3 pointers. Especially in Dantoni's system you would probably never see zach in the post. If he was averaging 25 and 10 on 50% shooting taking 17 shots a game all coming from midrange and under then i would think about dealing for him.

I agree.

Zach has some good talent, there isn't a doubt about it. But he fits right next to Eddy Curry. Now some could say Zach can change because hes in a winning system, he is playing with LeBron James, etc. However, he still has been a proven cancer.

If Ferry really believes this is the right move to make, then let's see where it goes. Maybe a change for Zach to a winning team would help with a lot.

"So it's not necessarily do you want Randolph/Lee over Wallace, it's more like do you want Randolph/Lee over Chris Bosh? over Dwyane Wade? etc etc?"

As has been written elsewhere, these guys are not leaving their respective teams anymore than LBJ is going to leave the Cavs......Let's worry about today rather than 2010. That deal makes us the best team in the East and you still have Wally to deal for a quality 2/3 at the trading deadline.........Do it Danny!!!

If Randolph came attached with Lee and a 1st I'd pull the trigger.

I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

I thought we had a long-standing "No Knicks" policy around here. Therefore, no Zach Randolph.

Fella's I told yall in the off season, this trade would present it self to us.How can you pass on David lee 10 and 10 and Zach Randolph 17 and 10 for Has -Ben Wallets 4 and 8.

I remember how so many cavs fans did not want Mo, it was Redd or nothing.

Now we have an elite starting point guard.

Ferry is gonna do it,he is breaking down the soft image portrayed by many cavs teams in the past. Cavs are getting tougher.

David Lee and Z-Bo bring a Nastyness to the court that you can't teach, and it takes that to win in this league plus they are both more talented than any post player on are team.

We will annihilate Boston with this team.

J.J. can wait and learn the post game from Zach, and when his cotract is up he will be like 30 and Hickson will be 23.

Jackson can wait and learn from Lee who will definatley be resigned by the cavs.

We have so many good guys on this team, and ZBO will be a welcomed addition.

LeBron is also 6'9 260 ,He will keep Zach on point.

The biggest advantage is that we can still shop Wally and Sasha for Mike Miller or Mike Redd at
the deadline.

Brilliant.............

Ferry will decode the matrix that is the Cleveland Curse.

Besides we will be Damned if we let Detroit swoop in and take this deal , Believe that............

Z.Ilgauskus/A.Verajao/J.Hickson
Z.Randolph/D.Lee/D.Jackson
L.James/A.Pavlovic/T.Kinsey
M.Redd/D.West
M.Williams/D.Gibson

You don't think David Lee would look good in a Cav uniform? He is much better than anyone we have at power forward.

I'm gonna try to play the devil's advocate here. If I am Ferry, I honestly would do this. I would first ask LeBron what he think about it, if LBJ wants him, go get him.

Everybody already knows the talent he has. So I don't even need to talk about that.

I realize he is a "cancer", but he is on a team that is the joke of the NBA and they are all a bunch of cancers. Like CavsRules said, maybe being a good team can change things.

Let me just bring up a couple examples of this. Two of the biggest hot-heads/cancers in the NBA a couple years ago, Sheed and Artest are toned down now. Once Sheed went to the Pistons who had other respected players and a chance at winning, he turned into a great teammate. Look at Artest, maybe the biggest "cancer" ever. He was on a horrible team in Sacramento and he even turned it down.

Another reason is this whole 2010 thing. Listen, until LeBron said "Im here to stay" at the Obama thing, most people thought he was a goner (most outside Cleveland still do). What he said at the Obama campaign means nothing, just like what all the "experts" say about him leaving means nothing.

Now I can accept it if we do everything we can to win now and he still leaves. There is nothing the organization could of done about it. But if we don't try everything we can, and he walks, I will be extremely pissed. I think everyone will be thinking "What if we got Zach?" (because we all know we can get him). Lets be realistic, this team has a very very slim chance of winning the Finals. We still need one more piece. I think Zach can do it IF he decided to be a team player. I realize that is a big IF, but it's a chance I am willing to take.

And for those of you that wouldn't do Ben for Zach and Lee, no offense but I think you are nuts. We CAN'T assume in 2010 we're getting Bosh or Wade or someone else. That is just talking crazy. The chances of that happening are WAY less than LeBron leaving. What superstar would want to come to CLEVELAND and play second fiddle to LeBron??

Lastly, we all know that HOPEFULLY we trade Wally for a SG or PF this season. I believe we need that PF more than the SG. I can live with Delonte/Boobie/Sasha getting the minutes there. There is no chance we win a title with Ben and JJ holding down the PF (unless we got a SG, I guess it would be possible). But you get what I am saying. West/Boobie/Sasha is better than Ben/JJ.

I was looking at teams that might suck this year and be looking to unload a PF for an expiring. Well if you look around, there aren't too many.

Here is a list of some PF's that might be available (a lot of them we wouldn't even want).

- Randolph
- David Lee
- Villanueva (nobody wants him)
- Nene & K-mart (horrible contracts)
- Hackim Warrick (undersized)
- Chris Wilcox (good addition but does it put us over the top? No)
- Nick Collison (see Wilcox)
- Al Harrington (undersized, could be decent)
- Marion (undersized, Heat have said they want a star in return)
- Odom (undersized, lack of heart, doubt L.A. trades him for expiring)
- C.Frye (would be an o.k. backup)

There are a ton of SG's I see becoming available, but is it worth the risk? I ask LeBron, I tell LeBron to talk to Zach, I talk to Zach, I make the trade. But hey that's just me, I am a risk taker. I am not satisfied with an aging often injured 4 ppg on 39% shooting PF.

thank you.....you are acting like we are just going to go participate & definitely get bosh or wade or melo..its not a guarantee...if lebron don't see any improvement & his battle to the ship is still hard then he is on his way out to....i rather look at now & start winning rather than prepare for a FA & battle like 15+ teams for like 6 all-star players....i rather keep our own(in lebron) & secure a team around him so we can start winning as of NOW

& Zach is a cancer! you act like he can carry any team....he is one of those players you team up with another good player & go for more wins....something like what boston did.....NY sucked, portland sucked but why is randolph a cancer??????????? i know he may act like a fool but what good is it if your're stucked with teams that suck...Zach+lebron+mo+Z+the team=game over

my point exactly.....well said

ok if the knicks would do wallace for zach and lee i would definetly do it. and then we trade wally and a 1st for mike miller.

think of this line-up
Mo/ Boobie
Miller/ West
Leborn/ Sasha
Randolph/ Lee
Z/ Varajoe

anyone on that stating line-up can go for 20 any night plus boobie and west can get 20 accasionaly

that is a very good rotation and i think that would give us a very good chance to win a title and convince lebron to stay
