Cavs Season Ticket Renewals/Pricing

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Guys march 7th is my bday and the cavs play the suns where is the best place to get cavs tickets??

flashseats.com usually has the best selection, and prices are unpredictable this season. "The Classifieds" section of this forum sometimes has special offers by RCF posters.

My lower bowl row 20 behind hoop went from 52/game to 59. Pretty much what I expected. I think I'll renew.

Sure some fans who did not renew can score some seats below face during some of the lesser January mid week games, but good luck during the playoffs. Such fans won't be able to sniff such seats without paying well above face. Let's face it, the playoffs are one of the best parts of owning season tickets.

I've owned full season tickets since before the LeBron lottery and used the opportunity when LeBron left not to ditch the tickets but to get better and better seats. Those that stayed should by now have excellent seats in a given price category that carry value on flash seats. But I did not endure all those years as a season ticketholder to sell seats; I got them because I'm a crazy fan.

Pretty much this. It is still the reason I put up with all the not so great things about owning them.

Playoff tickets will be 3 to 4x face value and as they advance deeper, they'll climb higher.

Finals tickets will be so astronomically high that I'm fine with eating a few regular season games or selling them for a slight loss to guarantee playoff seats.

Same here. I sold off a decent number of my tickets because there's no way I could make it to all 22 games in my package with a baby in the house.

But the whole point anyway was to lock in those playoff tickets. Man, when we were in the playoffs last time Bron was here, if you got tickets at double face value, you got a serious steal. Year we went to the Finals, the cheapest Flash Seats prices were around $300 for Loudville. Crept up into the thousands for lower bowl.

I have some pretty nice seats in the center straights. Ticket prices have been held for 4 years which was great. They gave me a 22% increase. :conf (9):

I've been reading these boards for awhile, but never really chimed in. This got my attention though... not sure who that Twitter blogger is or if they work directly for the Cavs, but this information is incorrect. I still have a new season ticket holder price chart from the 2009 season, right smack when they were in the prime time of LeBron's 1st time in Cleveland. Before this increase in price for next season, my seats during this season were already higher than the new season ticket holder price for these seats in 2009.

I'm not saying all price levels are the same when it comes to this, but at least for the lower level it appears so. With the 18% increase for next season that will make next seasons tickets close to 23% more than they were for new STH's in 2009. Only thing I can think of to back up that tweet is it's very deceptive. The floor seats and premium seats were through the roof for season tickets during his last 3 years the 1st time. The Cavs haven't had a chance to really jack those premium inventory seats back up since this is the 1st renewal since the return, which is why the average price overall is still slightly below where it used to be.

Granted there's by far more hype this time around than last and I completely agree that ticket prices should be more than they were the last time around. To say ticket prices are still below the norm though is incorrect.

Yeah I have nothing to confirm myselfm @dgibson1. Kleps works for Crains Cleveland Business, so I assume he his info somewhere reputable. guessing it must have to do with seat location like you said.

When I had an 11 game package from 2007-2010, we had Loudville corners, and they were $35 per seat I belive. Not sure what they go for now.

They must have got you for an extra little increase back in the day for only having a partial game plan then unless you were in the first couple rows. Here's a look at the upper bowl pricing from 2009 for new STH's...

loudville end sections: $10
loudville corner sections rows 12-17: $17
loudville corner sections rows 1-11: $25
loudville 205/212/222/229 sections rows 9-17: $25
loudville center sections rows 9-17: $35
loudville 205/212/222/229 section rows 1-8: $35
loudville center sections rows 1-8: $50

quickly looking back through the thread I saw Sec 133 row 11 with their price and those seats were $25 cheaper back then

For a bit of perspective, I bought my lower bowl sides right before the LeBron lottery, making a reasonable gamble. The price of my seats pretty much doubled BEFORE he left.

I can appreciate the increase. But why then did the Cavs not decrease the ticket prices after LeBron left (the year after he left since the Cavs did not know he was leaving until after the price was set for his first Miami year)? We were an awful team for years, yet the prices remained.

The only incentive I'm aware of is a free scarf. Anyone else scoring other incentives?

Signed up for the lottery but haven't been selected. Bought tickets to two games via FlashSeats. So far been called twice and emailed twice by a sales rep trying to get me to sign up for a partial plan for next year. Offering free game this year and chance to buy a Round 1 playoff ticket.

Starting to think they may have overestimated demand yet again.

Now that football is over and the NBA all star weekend is here, along with warmer weather, and with the Cavs winning and playing very well, demand will increase. I also think that if the Cavs go far in the playoffs, demand will surge. Keep in mind that the Cavs renewal rate was pretty strong even after LeBron left and they were still middle of the pack attendance-wise despite a poor product.

Remember the Cavs intentionally had a ceiling on the number of season tickets they sold last year, and they could have sold out the season. I'm not sure of their policy this coming year. It's possible they will increase that ceiling if they are having to work to unload the extra tickets. Like any year, there will be some attrition (fans moving, losing job, taking over better seats, partners in season tickets drop off, divorce, death, etc.), so the Cavs will always be looking to sell tickets.

But underestimating demand? I don't think so.

So I talked to our rep again. The are phasing out the 5 game package, which is what we have. If you put a deposit down ($200 per seat) you priority to get at LEAST 10 games. Possibly more if available. They are running a special if you place a deposit on 2 seats, you'll get 4 tickets to the Clippers game this Thursday AND you WILL get to buy tickets to 1 first round playoff game this year. Still no pricing. You don;t know where the seat are and the flash seats problem. I told him other than playoff tickets I can get better seats for cheaper from flash seats. He said they are working to correct that and increase the "secondary market prices".

how could they possibly do that? The buyers willingness to spend determines what they end up selling for.

They have (seemingly) been artificially lowering prices by flooding flash seats with additional tickets at the last minute. Which caused people to wait longer for those deals to pop up, which meant less higher dollar sales earlier.

I'm guessing they are gonna cut out that practice.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong price range, but I haven't noticed that. I do notice too many tickets that expire without accepting the top bid when I try to low ball bid on seats close to the court.
