Cavs sign PG Ben Uzoh to 10 day contract

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
maybe he can become our jeremy lin

I'd compare him more to an Alonzo Gee type signing like the Cavs made last season. A young player who was solid in college, has some NBA experience, possesses good physical traits and athleticism, and is in need of some development and refinement in his game.

I have liked Uzoh's potential and thought he'd be a good signing if Sessions was traded. Definitely a player worth bringing in for a longer look. Maybe he doesn't develop but when you're in the position the Cavs are in right now you should take low cost low risk moves like this that do have some very real potential to pay off.

I agree that he looks like a good signing, especially considering the moves they are planning. I'm happy they didn't go back to Manny. I like the kid and hope he finds a team, but I think it's clear what he can give and the Cavs need someone who can give more than that. Uzoh is an interesting mix of skills, looking forward to see more of him.

showed a tiny sliver of potential tonight in a few minutes...gota play him way more tho coming up...It might hurt the standings but you can toss the playoffs out of the picture

Hopefully we strike lucky on him. Theres probably a couple guys in the D league that weve seen in the NBA, thought they were weak, but really only needed to go to a team that plays differently. It was definitly Gee....Lin.....hopefully Uzoh...but if he doesnt work out, who cares because its only a 10 day

Uzoh at the 2...anyone?

I think that is the consensus in regards to Uzoh that he has the size and length to be a combo guard. We've seen Scott likes to have 2 PG's on the floor at the same time, so if Uzoh can play the two well then he'll be more likely to stick around. Our next two games shall provide some garbage time again to get Uzoh minutes, so hopefully we get to see more of him shooting as a Shooting Guard needs to be able to shoot.

At the moment I don't see Uzoh solely at the 2.

I love how long he is, and it looked like he can handle the ball. That pass over the top to Hollins was great, and his vision seemed pretty good. I would not be upset if he was Ramon's replacement from what I have seen so far. Definitely long enough to guard the 2.

That pass over the top to Hollins made me wonder how many times has that been there? Considering Hollins only ever plays with Sessions..... Yeahhh time to get Ramon outta here. This shit is going down real soon. The Lakers working out Gilbert Arenas might be smoke blowing. LA doesn't wanna give up 2 first rounders for Sessions. Could we possibly get a 3rd team in there to take Jamison off of our hands and attain the Mavericks pick? LA fucked themselves. It's gonna be amazing to see a smaller market like us have SO many assets when prestigious teams like the Lakers and Knicks so devoid of assets. Competitive balance?

We've had assets before, we'll have them again.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter, as L.A & N.Y will always be able to lure free agents in the NBA & make trades for guys who give their teams no choice other than "I want to go to Team X or Team Y". Unless this changes, there will be no competitive balance in the NBA.

We have never been able to & the only way we will be able to lure guys here is if Kyrie does some good recruiting.

1) Keep that in the Sessions topic

2) Sessions is averaging more assists than the beloved Kyrie Irving

3) Say more good things about Uzoh in this thread

Uzoh once missed a shot to see what it felt like.
In museums, Uzoh is allowed to touch the art . . . and the tour guides.
Wherever he signs, championships appear.
He's the most interesting D league prospect in the world.
I don't always give out 10 day contracts, but, when I do, I prefer Uzoh.
Stay hopeful, my friends.

My bad, I forgot we're thinking championship with a 10 day contract signing.
