Channing Frye

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nice interview on the vertical with Frye. Seems excited to contend and knows his role will be to stretch the floor and fight on D. Excited to see Love, Frye, JR, KI on the court bombing 3s and spacing the floor.

Seriously, how is anyone complaining about this move??? We brought in the corpse of Kendrick Perkins to be our 4th big last year, Channing Frye is an actual NBA player with actual basketball skills. Everyone should remember this when he drains his first three as a Cav.
You asked that in this forum with all the wild posts I 've seen over the years???

Quick recap of Frye on Yahoo:

Heard rumors from the first two weeks of the season about being traded.

Flurry of current feelings but excited to play with the Cavs level of players.

Regarding playing time in ORL: Had good relationship with Skiles but there wasn't much consistency with team. He didn't take lack of PT personal at all.

Emotions: How can be be mad right now? (Laughs) He's packing for cold weather while standing in 80* weather. (Jokes) Wants to win and go to playoffs. Has to be prepared a likes being given the chance to win games.

Fit on Cavs: He's thought about it already. He sees himself giving space to the creators like Bron, Kyrie. Mentions Moz, TT, LBJ, Love want to get to the rack and he helps with space. Also sees himself effective in P&R. Says he's not a shot blocker but his defense is under-rated.

Postseason
:Been there a couple times and it's fun to play for something. He says he going to try and fit and not mess around. There to win and he must take advantage of opportunities.

Uptempo: He fits without a doubt. Thought the Cavs played slow the first time ORL saw them but watched Cavs recently and noticed more uptempo. Cannot stop LBJ and Kyrie going full speed and almost impossible to guard. Pace will be a good fit for him and sees himself effective on trailing 3 pointers as well.

Thinks GSW is just a team full of guards and will do all he can to fit into Cavs current identity.

We gave up a 1st round pick for Channing Frye. Just let that sink in. We give away picks like candy. Unbelievable.
Can we stop acting like our super late 1st rounders are that valuable? We draft second round talent for first round money. We're using them exactly as they should be used, to bring pieces that will contribute immediately

Great. Another RJ / Marion type. Haven't seen this dude do shit in years (even then he was an average role-player), but he's going to help us win a 'ship. Ok.

Cavs front office just goes crazy for those aging role-players that will do nothing for us down the stretch.

Gave up a pick, and watch I bet Cunningham becomes another Danny Green.

Agree. We have 3 years left of Lebrons almost prime. A 2018 rookie wouldn't help the cause. 3 years of Channing Frye may. Let's hope for some nice buyouts too.

Not sure this is going to put us over the top against GSW but it makes us better.

If Frye means less minutes for RJ.... then Griff for GM of the year.
