Just in case it comes up with your Guardian gig, I learned today that "harry rag" is Brit slang for cigarette. Don't spell it as "hairy rag", that is something completely different.
Hope this helps!

Harry rag is rhyming slang for fag, which is a cigarette, but might cause some offense for alternative meanings. Rhyming slang is not ubiquitous though

It's weird that he says he has to check the veracity of that comment (I assume that the Cavs didn't defend the three last year?0 then goes on to say the exact same thing (that the Cavs were the worst at defending the three). WTH was he talking about with that answer?

Last yr's Maccabi Tel Aviv team may not have been the worst at defending the 3, but it certainly wasn't their priority. But that was the quibble, not the last yr Cavs team.

Non Cherry picked NBA.com stat breakdowns in a basketball story.

Frankly im tired of Parker getting on the newswires and providing information instead of telling us what to think

Its almost like he wants us to draw our own conclusion.

Also the complete lack of negativity or dramatic innuendo had to be embarrassing to the Guardians Editor.

Im aghast that online publications are allowing Journalism on their sites instead of the gossip fodder weve grown accustomed for.

Its almost like Parker was Covering the sport instead of covering himself covering the sport.

My hope is that Parker and a few other guys like himself stepping up and trying to bring respectability to this medium by asserting themselves as reporters instead of pundits is a fad and not a trend.

Yeah! The nerve of Parker letting us draw our own conclusions w/o a perceived narrative to pound at us incessantly to negative bullet points in as he grinds his axe! Who the hell does he think he is? :chuckle:

The Kinks have a great song called Harry Rag. One of Ray Davies best songs.

speak to the ideas that you went from being a nonthreedefending team last year to play a defense that is very intent upon defending the three. How do you come up with that for your players to change your way from one year to the next?

Well, first of all, I'm going to have to check the veracity of that comment. I'm not just going to let that go. But I will say this. Last year the Cleveland Cavaliers were absolutely the worst team defending the threepoint shot in the NBA. They let up the most, the highest percentage. That you can check quickly and We definitely made it a point this year to address that and try to improve in that area, and we did succeed with that. In the NBA game today, that is very, very important. Certainly doing a good job in that parameter of the game, and it's crucial against the Warriors.

Is it more important here than it is in Europe?

COACH BLATT: Well, not necessarily. But as you said, there are a lot of ways to win basketball games. The important thing is to recognize what works for you and what helps you get it done.

(didn't post this correctly last time)

Chris, you are THE MAN!.

Thank you!

@Chris Parker Is there a pecking order for Post Game Pressers? I feel like I haven't heard a question from you yet.

When I was doing the Guardian I find it too difficult to write and participate in the post-game presser after trying for game 1.

While I miss working with them getting back home means I can return to the post-game presser since the Scene doesn't have overnight deadlines.

If you didn't hear today's pregame presser, I asked if his team's playoff run embodied the spirit of Smart Steal from the Strong (the book by his old Princeton Coach, Pete Carril) to which he gave me a No. He also chose all of the above on my multiple choice and told me he had to wait until he saw the film to say how they got beat so bad in the 4th of gm 1 on the boards. When I came back and asked if he'd looked all he would give me was "we missed more shots." Uh, great.

I don't know when he'll answer a question by me again, but it's feeling like a California size drought....
