CJ Miles & The Cavs Option

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Brian Dulik (@BrianDulik) tweeted at 9:37pm - 1 Jul 13:
#Cavaliers still won't confirm it, but they picked up the option year on contract of SG C.J. Miles (@masfresco), according to #NBA.

I thought that CJ had a non-garanteed year, not a team option. The big difference here is that is that if it's a team option, then CJ's on the roster for the year unless he gets traded, but if it's a non-guaranteed year, then the Cavs can keep him as long as they want and waive him at any time with no big cap hit.

It is not fully guaranteed. It's a very tradeable piece. Also, he is coming off his best shooting year when you combine % and volume. This is a no brainer.

Shooters always have a room in a team. It also helps that he has size and decent handles.

Nice

I've said this before and I'll say it again. CJ Miles has singlehandedly erased deficits before, with us. Yes he shoots too, yes he isn't really a team player. But you don't get rid of a guy like that for a guy who's just mediocre at everything.

It makes a lot of sense retain CJ. He comes at the right price, has the ability to play two positions and offers the ability to score in various ways.

Does his play sometimes make you want to punch the tv? Certainly...BUT i'd rather have a guy on our roster who has that potential to go off like CJ does versus over-paying a kid like Ellington.

Welcome back CJ! Maybe Mike Brown unlocks all that talent. Wishful thinking at best but hey...you never know.

As long as he can't just chuck jumpers whenever the hell he wants...

Nothing quite like a contested CJ Miles fall away 3 with 17 on the shot clock...until it drops.

I like CJ a lot, glad he is back! when hes on, hes about as exciting as it gets

CJ Miles stopped by the VladTV offices for an exclusive interview, where he discussed the fate of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the upcoming 2013-2014 NBA season. He spoke on his teammate Kyrie Irving, Andrew Bynum and what he expects from his contributions to the team this year, and then transitioned to addressing Lebron James' presidential run for the NBA Players Union, and whether or not he thinks Lebron is doing it for his own benefit.

Make me like CJ a little more. He really does get a bad rap around here that I feel is unjustified...

Lol. His "bad rap" is because he's the most egregious chucker I've ever seen.

Seems like an alright guy though.

The other players seem to like him, at least from an outsiders perspective. Might be a good locker room guy so their not in a hurry to boot him
