Cleveland Browns Select Baylor WR Josh Gordon

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just took a sample test online and scored a 50, I'm just a junior in undergrad, but the questions seemed extremely easy. Let me know what you guys think:

"You Scored 50
That's as good as Pat McInally. He got a 50 too.

He attended Harvard University. McInally served as the Bengals punter from 1976 to 1985 and has the only perfect score on the Wonderlic in NFL history."

As for Gordon, I'm just LOVING his pro-Believeland tweets ;)

The more I think about it, that just can't truly be how difficult the wonderlic is. It was mainly basic math and logic questions. I got every question right, and although I think I'm a fairly intelligent person, this just cannot be legit. lol.

Did you read this part?

Disclaimer: This is not a Wonderlic test and the scores derived from it may not accurately reflect the score you would attain on the Wonderlic test

I've taken a legitimate Wonderlic test and I can tell you that it is more difficult than that test. Is it harder? No... I wouldn't say that. But the questions are more in depth. There are more word problems that require precious time to read, understand, and solve. And some of these word problems aren't that logically trivial in terms of time taken to solve them. The 12 minute time constraint is extremely detrimental towards achieving a perfect score.

For instance, I scored a 38. Which I was happy with. I'm working on my Ph.D. right now in Aerospace Engineering, so I'm no slouch either.

I'm not sure how anybody can properly evaluate this pick since very few, if any, have seen this guy enough to form a valid opinion on him...

Regardless of that, I like the thought process of this pick and understand it... I'm not sure whether a 2nd round pick was a good value for him but time will tell for that..

Something to think about: WR was a major need going into next year, regardless of how this year went... A WR was going to be picked within the first few rounds next year... So getting that pick a year early could really benefit the Browns... Like I said, I'm not going to pretend to know enough about Gordon to form a opinion on him but it's obvious all the physical tools are there... It's finally nice to see an offense for once with legit playmakers everywhere that have the physical tools: Weeden, Richardson, Gordon, Little, Benjamin, Moore, Cameron, etc.. I'm just glad this offense might be exciting this year... I mean if we're being honest here, the defense wasn't too bad last year... It was probably slightly above-average but the fact that the offense was so bad and put so much pressure on the defense, seriously wore down and brought down the effectiveness of the defense... With a good offense, I'm hoping it can really turn this team around...

If Heckert deems this guy worth of a 2nd round pick, then I trust in him... Keep in mind this is a GM who values picks extremely high, so him giving up a 2nd round pick for Gordon should say a lot about what he thinks about Gordon and how confident he is in him... It should also say how comfortable he is with the research they put into him... If anything, his previous track record with drafting "at risk players" like Taylor, Little, Sheard, etc., should make us confident that Gordon's issues were truly overblown and Heckert has a good feel for these things..

I think the Browns will be improved next year even without Gordon. Frankly, I think our expectations of the Browns should not change with Gordon in the fold. I like the pick and I have a lot of optimism but the reality is the guy hasn't played a game in 2 years, he's practiced but hasn't played a game. The impact he will have without that experience and the fact that he missed rookie mini-camp puts him behind the 8-ball THIS year. If he gets on the field and can contribute a little I would consider it a success this season.

I don't understand the national pundits that put us 32 in power rankings now. Outside of Phil Taylor we aren't missing any key productive players from last year. The defense as Smooth points out was probably average to above average. They played well vs bad teams and poorly vs good teams but the fact is they were on the field a LOT last year because the offense was so bad so you have to weigh that into the equation. I think they will be about the same defense this year vs last, so if they are a middle of the pack defense you'll be in most games. The difference will be the offense. The offense was so putrid it was amazing we won 4 games and we were a botched chip shot FG away from 5 wins. Weeden will struggle at times but I think Richardson will be a calming influence on the team. We will have fewer 3rd and long situations because Richardson will be much more effective on 1st and 2nd down. Plus the shear fact that Weeden can throw the ball accurately farther than 10 yards should open the offense quite a bit. I can't see how the offense isn't respectable next year. With an average defense and a respectable offense I don't see where we are 32nd in the league. Maybe I'm a homer, maybe I don't value preseason rankings and saying schedules are tough before a game is played, but I just can't see it.

I think the pick used needs to be looked at as to what we'd have had to trade to have gotten a pick in the last draft as we are getting the player this year. Usually, it costs a pick one round higher then the pick you are trading for when you use the following year's pick. So, for a 3rd this year, you'd often have to offer a 2nd next year. That's how I see it.

This was warranted and a great move by the Browns. I don't believe Little will ever be the answer...his drops have frustrated the fans and the organization. Absolutely no way Little is a starter on a playoff-caliber team. He is a placeholder until we find a guy that can catch. Gordon might be that answer. I predict Little will be out the league within 3 years.

Strong words from CCF. I see Little as an impact guy as soon as next year.

The guy got arrested for being high in the Taco Bell drive thru?

If the Cops are starting to arrest people who are high and in the Taco Bell drive thru, then Taco Bell's business is going to go down the toilet.

Lol I'd like to hear the full story as to how it went down

Who isn't high when they eat at Taco Bell?

Anyways..couldn't be happier about this. Lets goo

I don't get it. We went from not knowing this guy existed, to thinking we won the super bowl with this pick. We need to lower our expectations so we don't get let down I think.

I couldn't disagree more honestly. He had some drops that's definitely true but the entire offense last season was a debacle from the top down. I don't think Shurmur knew what the hell he was doing or what was going on, therefor how could Little or Colt? Case and point the Alex Smith handoff.

I just think it was the worst situation for a rookie coming off a missed season to be in. You come in under a lockout, don't have the greatest grasp on the playbook and you're supposed to be the #1 guy? He had some drops, but Colt was awful last season and I don't think you can fault Little for every one of them.

He got himself in better shape and leaned up losing about 10-15lbs, I think he understands what it takes to make it through an NFL season. I think he's going to be a force this year with a legitimate QB that can deliver the ball with some zip and put the WR's in positions to catch the ball and run after the catch as opposed to Colt getting all of his WR's killed last season and putting them in awful spots.

I think Little is a staple on the Browns for quite some time and I'd even say he gets to a Pro Bowl.

It is impossible to determine the level of Greg Little's sucking. This is due to the amount of suck that surrounded Greg Little last season.

On Gordon I think this whole thing is overblown to be honest. What average person doesn't try pot at least once? Not only that but you're away at college the best time of your life and you smoke some pot and get caught. The guy wasn't stealing and selling laptops, he wasn't dealing, he wasn't doing coke, or beating up an estranged baby momma.

He scored a 24 on the Wonderlic seemed very well spoken and intelligent in interviews. He didn't commit a heinous crime, I'd be worried if he got drunk and crashed a car and fled the scene. Smoking pot and going to Taco Bell? Not concerned.

Can't wait to see him in the redzone.

Little is decent on the outside routes. When running in, he tends to jump to catch a ball at eye level. He doesn't use his hands properly as well. I just noticed a lot of red flags (I grew up playing and coaching WR...at 36 yrs old, well removed...but I have a good eye for evaluating fundamentals).

It was very clear to me that when Little uses his athleticism to snatch a ball out of the air, he is solid. This is because his mind is removed from thinking about consequences. When he is open and thinks about what he is going to do after the catch, his fundamentals go way down and he juggles or drops. A pro level receiver should not be this fundamentally unsound...fortunately for him he has the measurables of a prototypical WR.

The Browns used a higher pick on Gordon than anyone has used on a supplemental draft player since I can remember. Look. Time will tell how this move will play itself out. But, to me, it looks like a desperation move by the Browns when they whiffed on getting a receiver in the draft before the 4th round. They had the 2nd slot. So, I don't think there was any reason for them to bid earlier than the 3rd round.

From what I've read, Gordon is awfully raw with his route running particularly coming out of his cuts. Given that he's not played in two years, and that he missed rookie minicamps, he's gonna have a lot of catching up to do. It is hard for me to imagine him making a huge impact until late this season at the earliest. There's no question the Browns paid the highest price for them that they could have (as usual). We'll see if he's worth it in the end.
