Cleveland Browns Select Baylor WR Josh Gordon

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Idk, I'm thinking Carlton Mitchell and Quoi as about as good of a bet for the chopping block as Norwood. A couple, few of these guys gotta go.

Little
Cribbs
Gordon
Benjamin
Mitchell
Norwood
Massaquoi
Cooper

I love this guy.

I'm not sure how anybody can properly evaluate this pick since very few, if any, have seen this guy enough to form a valid opinion on him...

Regardless of that, I like the thought process of this pick and understand it... I'm not sure whether a 2nd round pick was a good value for him but time will tell for that..

Something to think about: WR was a major need going into next year, regardless of how this year went... A WR was going to be picked within the first few rounds next year... So getting that pick a year early could really benefit the Browns... Like I said, I'm not going to pretend to know enough about Gordon to form a opinion on him but it's obvious all the physical tools are there... It's finally nice to see an offense for once with legit playmakers everywhere that have the physical tools: Weeden, Richardson, Gordon, Little, Benjamin, Moore, Cameron, etc.. I'm just glad this offense might be exciting this year... I mean if we're being honest here, the defense wasn't too bad last year... It was probably slightly above-average but the fact that the offense was so bad and put so much pressure on the defense, seriously wore down and brought down the effectiveness of the defense... With a good offense, I'm hoping it can really turn this team around...

If Heckert deems this guy worth of a 2nd round pick, then I trust in him... Keep in mind this is a GM who values picks extremely high, so him giving up a 2nd round pick for Gordon should say a lot about what he thinks about Gordon and how confident he is in him... It should also say how comfortable he is with the research they put into him... If anything, his previous track record with drafting "at risk players" like Taylor, Little, Sheard, etc., should make us confident that Gordon's issues were truly overblown and Heckert has a good feel for these things..

Smart man. Off to a good start with the fans. And shit who hasn't fallen asleep at a Taco Bell drive thru?

My initial thought was that this guy will be Carlton Mitchell 2.0... but after reading what I've read today and watching his interview at his pro-day... I'm loving it.

I looked around, but I couldn't seem to find the Pro Day interview. Can anyone link me to that? Please and thank you.

That is a risky move by the Browns. The guy hasn't played in 2 years so using what would seem to be a high 2nd round pick on him is a lot. However; if he can live up to that kind of praise, it was a pretty cheap and shrewd move. Grossi also said he scored a 24 on a wonderlick exam which is pretty high for a WR.

I scored a 26, I have a degree in chemistry and am typing from a computer in my lab right now. Not to say I'm a genious or anything, but I ain't no dummy. I'd say at a score of 24, neither is he.

Also, the browns must really love him to give up what will probably be a pick in the high 30's for him. Maybe seeing Greg Little have a decent year and show a lot of potential made it easier to pull the trigger on a guy who also missed some time.
