I'm very happy for DeRosa. He deserved much better than Wedge and now he's going to get it. He now has a real chance to win big.
What is very disturbing is the fact the real possibility exists of both Shapiro and Wedge residing over this team the rest of the year and making all of these sell off trades even though we know Wedge should be fired. I'm not comfortable with this at all. Shouldn't the Dolans at least get rid of Wedge right now and before he screws up more young kids?
I agree with some posts about the lineup. I feel we should call up at least LaPorta and Brantley right now as they are the future studs. Carrol should be relegated to the bench and keep Valbuena in there. Shoppach and Peralta should be packaged up in a trade. Gimenez can be the backup catcher for the rest of the year. Martinez should be the prime catcher for this year and call up Santana in September. LaPorta at 1B and Brantley in LF.
The Indians should be now planning for next year. I just don't want Wedge a part of that planning for the future.
Yeah, if we're throwing up the white flag, we might as well get our young talent up here and see what they're all about. I'm tired of waiting for LaPorta. I thought he got dealt a shity hand last time he came up; the dude couldn't get comfortable.
I'm losing faith in Ben Francisco lately. Seems he pretty one dimensional. I know you can't just take him out of his position, but at least make him share time with LaPorta.
And I think Pronk is coming around. He seems much more comfortable and his approach is soooo much better than it was at the beginning of the year.
Players I'm fed up with:
Raffey Perez
Matt Herges
Screw it, the whole bullpen
Kelly Shopach
Ben Francisco
Jhonny Peralta
Tomo Ohka
Ryan Garko (I'm tired of seeing a guy as big as him hit for less power than Jamey Carroll)
Josh Barfield
Chris Gimenez (I just don't think he is going to be that good)
Trevor Crowe
Players I think deserve their spot:
Vic
Grady
Choo
Pronk
Jamey Carroll (dude hustles his ass off and he is out most disciplined hitter. Put him at 3rd)
Valbuena
Asdrubal
LaPorta
Cliff (of course)
Jake Westbrook (hopefully)
David Huff
Laffey in the bullpen
Jeremy Sowers
Carl Pavano (I feel like he is hitting a small bump with fatigue; he'll be back)
Chris Perez (I'm excited to see him)
Mike Gosling (check out his year so far:
7-1 record. 3.77 ERA. 51 Ks to 18 walks.)
Alright, clearly this team frustrates the shit out of me.
