Destiny

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I really like the three new story levels. Man, that final fight in the third mission was nuts on hard. I really like what they did with the new concepts in the missions, adds some new challenges and forces you to change up your tactics a little bit (curse preventing you from double-jump and those vestige symbols that damage you once they spawn and stay fixed in an area). I fully expect them to be implemented in the raid.

I feel for those that didn't get the DLC as the weekly mission is locked behind it. For those that have the DLC, you have to complete the three story missions and then subsequent quest (targets) that Eris gives you after you finish the three story missions. I unlocked the strike against Omnighoul last night, but haven't attempted it yet.

The weapon you get from completing the three story missions is ridiculous. The Murmur lets you toggle between solar and arc damage. It's a fusion rifle that's really powerful, has amazing impact and range (on the solar setting).

I finally hit 30, and am just a few marks shy of buying Vanguard boots. With Vanguard helm, gloves, boots, and my maxed chest (Armamentarium), I'll sit at 129 light, which keeps me three light shy of level 31. So, if Xur has the Armamentarium for upgrade this week, I'll be set, otherwise, I'll need to go after the Vanguard chest, to hit 31 and make the new raid easier.

Tried the new raid, after about an hour of struggle, we made it past the opening challenge. Then we tried the next part, but had basically no clue what's going on, and the enemies were all 31.

Regardless, you can get the very first chest solo, so it is recommended that you do that, because it can drop raid loot to, until they patch it that is.

For the first part, it's important to move quickly, and stay together. The basics of it are make you way to the lamp, move to the next. If you fall behind the group, the lamps will burn out (and explode), and you won't be able to double jump or run.

It is difficult, because once you get to the end of the path, you have to fight a lot of enemies, and stand on this circle to make it form.

My personal strategy for this would be 2 titans with the blind shield, first one pops it, once the Ogres (2) break it, have the other one throw his down. Should make the team basically immune from the thralls.

The problem is getting all 6 people there, which my group never accomplished because people just kind of had to keep going or would be overwhelmed. Also BD's, if there are too many thralls, when you get to the end use your super, and the spiraling attack that hurts all enemies around you, and it does a good job of killing the thralls.

For the second part, it is a twist on the opening the spire from VOG. You have to stay on the sides, and middle. Middle opens bridge, two sides keep the team from wiping. Knights appear that hold the blade of crota. Kill it, grab the blade, cross the bridge, kill the gatekeepers (that can only be harmed by blade), do this until everyone is across.

?'s everywhere for the part after that though.

Scored a Dragon's Breath this morning :D

You're welcome for the suggestion, and i'm extremely jealous. For the Nightfall I got the 4th Horseman exotic shotgun. Full Auto, 5 shots, kills give ammo directly to magazine.

I'm going to be in Philly for work until late Friday, so I won't play until Saturday. I need to do the Nightfall and Heroic strike on both of my characters. I'd like to sync up with guys on here.

Also, I'm mid 30 now. I've got two pieces of the new Vanguard gear maxed, with a third near max, I just need to farm more Helium Filaments. I'm also close to leveling up the Vanguard again so I'll get another Commendation and just need 12 more Vanguard marks to be able to buy the chest piece. That would give me all four pieces, so I'll probably spend some time Saturday finishing that so I can hit 31. By that point, I'd be ready to try the new raid and/or the VoG on hard.

If you're on Xbox One I'd like to help. The friend I played with most isn't getting the DLC, so I don't really have anyone to do the weekly or Nightfall with anymore.

Man, Xur knocked it out of the park, I'm glad I hoarded my coins, I think I'm up to 56.

Upgrade the Armamentarium, Ice Breaker, and Suros Regime all in the same week?! Also selling the new DLC Titan Gauntlets! He's also got Thorn and The Last Word for upgrade even though I don't have those weapons.

I'm on PS4, sorry.

So I was able to solo almost all of the content from the original game with relative ease, especially once I hit level 30 and maxed out the Icebreaker. I can't even solo the level 26 weekly strike from the DLC, they aren't playing around. I'm liking how hard it is, as I prefer a challenge to mindlessly breezing through things, but this really puts a damper on my farming lol.

I did the nightfall with my warlock and got one of the new exotic chest piece. smh

I was able to upgrade my current helm and also got a chest from xur. I have everything to get to lvl 31 just need 16 more shards.
Are we on for doing the VoG on hard today? I have two lvl 30s waiting to go, and will be on pretty much all day.

I'm really not a fan of the fact that once I upgraded my fully leveled Thorn, I had to start from scratch leveling it again. Doesn't make much sense. I should only have to level it to the newer damage heights; it's not like it gained any new perks.

I'm also kinda salty that I'm back to using the shitty Thorn until it gets leveled into a beast again.

Hey guys, wasn't able to do the raid this weekend. Things got busy. I'll look to run the VoG tonight on hard with those who are interested. I'd like to nab either the Fatebringer or Pradeyth's Timepiece (primary Arc weapons). I'd also like to try a little bit of the Crota's End raid as well just to gain experience.

I'm still leveling the Ruin Wings, but I lacked a truly powerful heavy weapon to take advantage of the extra heavy weapon drops. Yesterday, I found a legendary engram and it turned into the new Thunderlord. I'll be looking into this Ruin Wings + Thunderlord combo. Seems pretty crazy in theory. I don't have a lot of good arc weapons, so this was great.

I've got two characters that are both 31+. I've read that the Defender Titan is extremely valuable for the new raid. So, I'll be happy to provide that.

So I've reached lvl 23 with relative ease, and reading through some previous responses to my questions at the start was quite helpful. I'm now at the point where I believe I'll be grinding, which I'm totally good with, but I do have some questions, namely about what's most effective.

I can't play regularly, so if I only have a small window, what're my best choices for something to do? Daily Mission? Bounties? Other?

Are the loot chances better on lvl 24 vs. 22 vs. 20 strikes on the playlist? Better to breeze through a 20 than struggle on a 22, or will the 22/24 net me better gear/chances for gear over time?

Is it worth going both Vanguard & Crucible rep. if I can't max both weekly (which I doubt I can), or should I focus only on one? Is any appreciably faster? Is there any difference in the gear they provide? Are the other factions worth choosing (new monarchy, etc)? What are the differences between the other 3 factions to choose from for gear?

Also, I don't know what I don't know about this endgame and lvling from 23 up, so any additional words of wisdom much appreciated!

For the most part, legendaries from Vanguard and from the factions are about the same. The factions tend to be geared towards extra PVP damage.

Vanguard is 100% faster. Crucible limits you to 2 or 3 marks (win/lose) each game, so up to 50 games to max out. Or vanguard, a public event here, some strike playlist there, will get you to 100 easy. I've done, outside of the nightfall 2 strikes this week and i'm at 97 marks.

I wouldn't say one is better than the other stats wise. It's all preference.

Realistically, 75 marks x 3, to get you a total of 99 light, plus a 15 light helmet, and you can start doing the nightfall and weekly. Honestly if some rcf guys help you out, you will be more than fine.

It's not as daunting as it sounds.

Iron Banner is live, played a few games this morning to shake the rust off ;)
