Diet and Workout Routines

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
yea, i found out about the 30 day notification the hard way. i was willing to write that charge off, but i meant they tried charging another month after that too. and it's even worse because i was sent a new credit card due to potential fraud (home depot hacking i think?) but i can't activate it until this stuff is settled.

a++ to you for suggesting month to month. gym contracts are one of the biggest crocks of shit around, among the likes of magazine subscriptions and that stupid ass worthless aol subscription (which my mom fell for for way too long lol).

juice came in. this supplier was fucking nuts quick. ordered friday im pretty sure and it came in today from NJ.

whatev

this will be a good bulk. I have taken the last year off for all intents and purposes. i gotta do this one right.

down to 172..just keepin on losing weight! Ill probably need to be like 165 to get to 10% body fat.. i havent weighed that since I was a freshman in highschool when i basically stopped eating food for a few months lol

started doing long walks on my off days, i probably should have been doing that a long time ago, its a great way to ease the body/mind after sitting down all day at school/work

I finally have my first off day in months. (Tuesdays). I was actually calculating that my next off day wouldn't have been until Thanksgiving. Didn't think I'd make it. Because of this 7 day a week work schedule, I have slacked on my cardio (6.2 miles walk/jog). I haven't done it in months. But my new schedule does allow me be off by 1pm on Friday's, so I could probably get one in, after work.

I haven't weighed myself in a while, but I know my body fat is closer to 30% (which doesn't matter to me). I can't obsess about % and weight. @AuxiliaryPie , you're tiny! I need to get some consistency in. By the way Aux, Michael placed 8th in Vegas this weekend. I had no idea that he was top 10, in the world.

i know, i need to hurry up and get to 10% so i can bulk up again lol.

Go Michael! i also found out he used to "workout" with my dad at fitworks.. workout is in quotes cuz thats what my dad says they did, but he probably just bothered him between sets haha

Once you get married, you quit giving a damn about fitness, diet, and appearances it seems.

Happily married since 2006, two awesome kids, I'll be 40 next summer, and just this morning I set a 3rm for strict shoulder press at 195#! My passion for fitness is still as strong as ever. While I'm lacking in the washboard Abz region, anyone who walks by me knows I spend time at the gym. The past year I've competed in Highland Games, Strongman, CrossFit, Track & Field, and pickup basketball/football after work with the guys.

If it's important to YOU, then you will make time for it. I've seen too many fat parents being gassed walking with their kids at the park, and I'll do everything I can to not be that guy.

These all look like pretty great workouts; that first one seems like a traveler's special, perfect to do in a hotel on a work overnight/vacation.

20 muscle-ups is pretty advanced stuff, unless you have a pretty extensive gymnastics background. I've never been a big fan of pistols; because I'm a bigger guy, the knee stress seems higher than smaller guys doing them.

Also, I would recommend AGAINST ever doing kipping handstand pushups, unless you have accumulated a significant amount of handstand pushup strength/ability-even then I'm iffy with them. Kipping HSPUs are REALLY traumatic to your spine, as the spinal compression on the way down is pretty significant. I would spend some time developing a strict HSPU, and work on being comfortable upside down. There is a pretty solid progression on developing HSPUs, and I won't waste any more space here unless someone gives a shit about learning them LOL.

Adidas has their Powerlift shoes 50% off but only in ugly ass bright red and sizes 13+.. i sent an email asking if they could find my 10.5 but i doubt it will happen. Those shoes are super legit.

It may have been brought up in here a few times, but someone give me a secure/cheap website I can order protein off of. Or something that someone takes on here that has protein.

I don't need a pre-workout.

Im pretty frusTrated.have taken the last week off bc of a sore elbow and it's gotten worse over the last few days.

Need to pull the plug on this cycle.

While doing a bit of research for a sociolinguistics class I am taking, I came across this tidbit. Found it interesting. I didn't bother to look up the original study, so I don't know how well it was conducted. Nevertheless, I could see there being some merit to it.

Then the researchers conducted another study. Participants were told to set a personal long-term health and wellness goal. When their motivation inevitably flagged, one group was told to say, "I can't miss my workout." Another group was told to say, "I don't miss workouts." (The control group was not given a temptation-avoidance strategy.)

Ten days later, they found:

  • 3 out of 10 control group members stuck to their goal.
  • 1 out of 10 "I can't" group members stuck to their goal.
  • 8 out of 10 "I don't" group members stuck to their goal.
Not only was "I can't" less effective than "I don't," "I can't" was less effective than no strategy at all.

Why? According to the researchers, "The refusal frame 'I don't' is more persuasive than the refusal frame 'I can't' because the former connotes conviction to a higher degree…perceived conviction mediates the influence of refusal frame on persuasiveness."
